A giant win for parents and children as Seattle's biggest man hater steps down. The question is whether Ed Murray believes in equal parenting rights for all, or just for gays. Another opponent of shared parenting (the illegal lobbiests funded by the NW Women's law center) believes only lesbian women deserve equal parenting rights but not fathers, or so their actions and press releases indicate. They are lobbying illegally by the way and I do hope the IRS starts checking into their status. Needless to say, gays and women's lobbies haven't been so interested in the right thing, just "their thing" when it comes to parenting.
How anti-father was this Senator? In the Senate Committee hearing for a watered down version of shared parenting, she came down and hugged the opposition. Heaven forbid a noncustodial parent be anything more than a monthly check to their children.
As an aside, I generally feel neither side of the aisle should be held hostage by their own farthest extremes. This is one of the big hostage takers for state democrats.
