Kerry / Edwards / Gore - hurting democrat chances in 2008?

The Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers" comes to mind when describing this Frick and Frack duo of Democrat presidential hopefuls and our junk science man of global warming. In stark contrast to some of the GOP minds of political past, the current names of political celebrity from the left aren't doing the party many favors when stumping. In fact Bill Clinton seems to be the only one able to take the stage anymore and NOT generate enormous amounts of bad press for a candidate.

Sometime before I really gave a damn about politics I caught an interview of Dan Quayle on Mark and Brian (syndicated radio in PDX). Contrary to how the media had painted him throughout the Bush Sr years, the guy was freaking brilliant on public policy. I made this assessment BTW while I was a student at PSU, a fan of Clinton and voting Democrat (well when I voted since I didn't care about politics in those days).

Now we have Chicken Little shouting from mountain tops that the world is going to end because of humans- which is a dumb way to push a somewhat valid issue regarding energy policy, a comedian wanna-be standing on stage pretending to snort cocaine in reference to a conservative radio host and the latest whopper which is Kerry calling our troops retards who couldn't cut it in a real job.

This is branding folks- and these are your brand spokes-persons at work.

If I were sitting at left wing central I'd be taking some serious time to think about how to talk to middle America- because your current big mouths need to learn that silence is the ONLY successful substitute for brains.

Also- Camp Cantwell keeping GOP students out of an open forum at BCC doesn't speak flowers and honey to the middle either- to bring the discussion closer to home. In fact Cantwell seems to be one of the few who undertand that keeping your mouth shut and not taking a stand on as many issues as you can possibly avoid is the best way to ride anti-Bush sentiment. Strategy without substance can only go so far- as Mike! seems to bucking the national trend on chances for GOP gains in DC.

Al Gore will be elected President in 2008
Not because he is running
