Man hauled off to debtor's prison from his mom's funeral

Judge says he can go free if he coughs up $10,000. ...couldn't he like, work it off, by like, you know, maybe babysitting his own kids at 7 bucks an hour?

His kids are going without the basic necessities? Well not exactly, they are pretty much adults now. The moms who apparently have had full custody of the kids are likely bitter about having spent so much money on lawyers to get that custody and then years of time alienating them from their father and then failing to get the annuity that was supposed to go with it.

What the heck do you mean saying children aren't government annuities pawned by the divorce industry?

Gregoire says not providing free health care to illegal immigrants is "intolerable"

...and then sticks the rest of us with the bill.

She might be overly concerned that the illegal immigrants won't vote for her (illegally, again) in the 2008 election. Sorry Christine, we just can't afford to be the welfare and health care provider to every corrupt bananna republic that wants to unload their poverty, crime and drugs onto Washington State.

Activists face off on condemning Darren Mack

Both Wendy McElroy and Glenn Sacks reiterated statements this week condemning Darren Mack. A link to Glenn’s newsletter is included in Wendy’s column. The assertion of both of the most prominent spokespersons for fathers is that a few too many political activists are happy with what Weller got. There is indeed a special place in hell reserved for judges like Weller. That is because it is discrimination and bias, NOT law that these judges practice. However, there is no good nor good intention in what Darren Mack did. We who fight for equal rights reject violence as a means of gaining equality. I should point out that many who are fighting, are not even in active custody battles. This is a civil rights fight for many of us and violent acts detract from any cause that is just and right.

In case it’s not clear, let’s review this blog’s position on Darren Mack’s murder of Charla Mack and attempted murder of Charles Weller. I’ve been silent on the murder of Charla. If you doubt my condemnation of that act, take another sip of that hate mongering feminist KKK kool-aid you might be drinking and read on. The blog entries from the time of the news hitting the wire are:

1- Just Dessert- No. This first entry on this subject condemned the attack citing that there is a process for taking down judges like Weller. There is no place in this process for shooting at people from rooftops.

2- The Charles Weller lead thank you-gram: I assert that Mack was a pretty normal guy before running through the Weller gauntlet of injustice. Contrary to what McElroy and Sacks would like to admit, any person pushed hard enough and far enough will snap. While feminists would like you to believe there are two kinds of men; those who have been arrested for battering / raping women and those who have not been arrested yet, the truth is that the divorce industry is designed to extract money and get revenge. If you doubt that, when was the last time you were required to take a psychological test to determine if you were a danger to your own child for no other reason than because someone who HATES you and is doing everything in their power to hurt you, says to a judge they “feel afraid?” Only one parent (the male) is ever asked to take these tests. The take away of this post is that we must reform family court to get custody decisions out of the hands of judges (I add to this point, the caveat that we advocates already point out… EXCEPT in extenuating circumstances where criminal wrong doing has been proven). This post in no way condoned Darren’s actions.

3- All politics are local- points out that there is no accountability for judges and asks the pointed question of what society’s expectation is when courts behave in a manner consistent with a “Jim Crow” style of family law exhibiting a patterned prejudice against one gender in custody battles. The call to action is that we as a society are better than Darren Mack and Charles Weller. Adding to what I said in this post, the response to discrimination should not be bulletproof glass; it should be removing the power to execute prejudice and bias from judges. I’ll be even more pointed: why is a judge in Thurston county standing in front of the legislature each year FIGHTING to prevent legislation that requires both parents be considered as equals in custody cases?

4- Darren Mack, the postpartum depression excuse? This entry points out that Darren is NOT the norm of the father’s rights movement. On the flipside, gold digging Charla and bottom feeding Weller are the epitome of what makes the divorce process punitive to fathers and men in general.

5- Safe Haven Laws- A satire on the double standard feminists want for murder and the absurdity of giving women a pass to walk out on their responsibility because they might otherwise murder their children. How absurd would it be to give a similar pass to Scott Peterson or Darren Mack? Well just about as absurd as the divorce industry makes it.

Ms. Gregoire, please return the dog to Dorothy

"I'll tax you all the way back to Kansas....and your little dog too."

The Queen of King County got a new pooch today. The irony is, the dog voted for her twice in King County and it wasn't even born yet. The real kicker is Dean Logan multiplied the dog's votes by 'dog years' to put her over the top.

The question remains: is the elderly gentleman fit enough to at least drive the dog in a parade?

Perspective: Ward “Eichmann of the left” Churchill vs the NAACP rape of the Duke lacrosse coach

In the United States you cannot be fired your job for saying the US deserved what it got on 9/11. To the contrary, you can in fact say this repeatedly as part of your job while collecting a salary from the taxpayers. Technically, I’m not sure if a private company would be able to fire you or not. Certainly, Ward "Eichmann" Churchill will give us an education on that one in his next job.

On the other hand, you can be fired from a job coaching a MEN'S lacrosse team if one or more of the players are falsely accused of rape. As the male coach, you are responsible and should have prevented a rape that did not actually occur from ever happening.

Gregoire revisits age discrimination?

Driving Miss Daisy II

First our Governor wouldn't be driven in a parade by an old dude, now she won't walk outdoors. I have to wonder, is she repenting for the first by hiring the old guy to drive her to work each day?

Is our Governor number one in the nation for death threats or what? It's the latter, because so far, there has yet to be any credible proof that any threat was ever made. So her share of death threats still appears to be zero.

Got Hate?

Is the Zero's editorial board referring to the Nazi's or the usual hate America, hate business, hate and resent the traditional family bigots that frequent Olympia downtown? It's tough to tell the difference, but I'm guessing the Nazi's were better dressed.

Did our local NOW rep get to light the penis on fire before the county burn ban went into effect? So many critical details are missing from our local daily paper.

Is this a news story or is the Seattle Times going to register with the PDC for a Cantwell campaign contribution

Campaign Contribution to Cantwell by the Seattle Times

A slow newsday or is this pretty much what the print media in Washington is about? At first it seemed like just bad writing by the Seattle Times, but by around the third paragraph it looks like a page out of a paid biography / campaign hoopla.

There really can't be any wonder why their profits are falling like a sack of hammers.

Washington State Environmental Lobby:: an Enron by another name is just as evil

As the property rights initiative steamrolls toward victory, Futurewise, the underbelly of the left, is making the first of several fumbling attempts to keep it off the ballot this November. These are the fine folks who ran the puppet show at the Governor's office to halt building in Thurston County.

Fascism? It’s alive and well here in Olympia.

I’m all for preserving rural areas and the country appeal of our county but I do believe the State and County governments are obligated to compensate landowners for legislation and ordinances which devalue property values. In other words, if you want to stop development, you better buy the development rights.

That’s not the agenda of the environmental lobby. Not only do they want to take your property rights, they want to do so without compensating you, and now they want to prevent you from having a vote on it.

Now the family farms that myself and many of my childhood friends grew up on could have been developed many times over the years- but there wasn’t a need. Money now isn't everything. That land was more or less a nest egg which was intended to be used as a source of retirement income for our parents. The back forty for many has always been intended to be turned into 5 acre parcels or to be passed on to the next generation. They’ve been zoned this way for decades. Until now that is. Now that the kooks have moved out to the country, they mistakenly believe they paid for not only their house in the earliest of the cookie cutter developments, but also the view of every parcel of rural land in the west half of the state.

Please environmental lobby, tell me how you are any different than Enron or United Airlines? How are you NOT a bunch of thieves trying to screw off with the most valuable component of our retirement portfolios?

The initiative is going to pass like the mandate from voters that it really is...the fascists know this and I really expect them to start using the courts to attempt to win where they can't win at the ballot box.

Don't stiff us with the bill for your desire for a country without any people. It's very un-American. If you want the land- then you can buy it, just like many of us, our parents AND grandparents did.

But what the heck- stealing is cheaper than buying if you're a thief and can get away with it.

Alternative viewpoint on safe haven laws (satire)

The legislature enacted safe haven laws to save the lives of newborn children that would otherwise be murdered by stressed out mothers desperate to escape the responsibility of being a parent. Despite this extremely lenient legislation, many women still prefer the dumpster to a police station, fire station, or hospital. Murder has more appeal to these mothers than total legal pardon apparently.

Interesting how the legislature has NOT enacted any sort of safe haven law to save the lives of women or mothers despite a rash of walnut brained men reacting in a similar way as these desperate peanut brained mothers. I would envision such a law as this: A man senses he is reaching the breaking point in a pregnancy or divorce and is able to say- “I quit” and go and start a new life- no harm, no foul, no accountability, none of the family’s financial debts and they get to walk away- just like the mother does with the current safe haven laws. In fact the safe haven law for men would be pretty much the equivalent to the clemency courts give to women in divorce cases if they decide to walk out on their own husband and children. This ‘safe haven’ law for men probably would have saved that pregnant Peterson woman, the Utah gal AND their babies.

Oddly every state legislature in the US has instead focused on extremely ineffective means of protecting women and unborn children from murder and violent attacks. Case in point, the ‘restraining order’ also known as the ‘protective order’ which makes any named attacker or murderer a criminal for getting within a hundred feet of the holder of this order. I’m 100% certain the magic power that was supposed to accompany this piece of paper was overlooked, else cut by the budget committee. Maybe the REALLY violent men didn’t get the memo. More probable, perhaps the protective order is really just meant to be a tool used by the divorce industry to rake another $10,000 dollars from the nonviolent men falsely accused of being ' verbally abusive control freaks' on issues like $50k of credit card debt or blatant infidelity.

What the legislature is really saying is that while safe havens may be a good thing in order to save children, the money they give to the divorce industry and general fund via divorce and child support collections is soooo important, that if they have to toss a few dozen women and children to the sharks to get more money out of men, then so be it. Government wouldn't be half as powerful of an entity if everyone were held to the same standard

In case you are a member of the Ku Klux Women’s Law Center Klan AND/OR a Democrat from Olympia or Seattle, please remember this entry is satire aimed at pointing out how absurd the double standard of accountability is when it comes to family law. Take your hate and point it someplace useful. I suggest the UN.

Gregoire's oral negotiations with Vincente Fox

In a tough round of negotiations with Governor Gregoire this week, Mexican President Vincente Fox told Gregoire to either make nice on immigration or he would find a way to grow apples in Mexico.

Not to be bullied by unjustified latino leverage, Gregoire told Fox to make nice on buying apples or Washingtonians would go back to baking their own meth.

Darren Mack vs Charles Weller, another case of post partum depression?

No wait, he's a male and doesn't get the double standard excuse to commit murder.

Despite the best efforts of bigot minded feminists to put Darren Mack as a face to the father's rights movement, he's not. Bar none, every advocate for family law reform has denounced his actions in this case. Charles Weller on the other hand is the epitome of the judge we rally against. Weller is the face of why states need to remove the default power of custody awards away from family court judges. Weller is the face why divorce is all too often a punitive process to fathers (and sometimes mothers!) Weller is the face of judges endorsed by the community of sleeze ball family law attorneys and elected to preserve the cash flow of the all too lucrative divorce industry.

Further to the point, a father snapping like Darren Mack is the exception to the rule, not the norm. The profile of Charla Mack however is the norm for custody cases. What is even more hysterical is feminists trying to portray her as someone attempting to escape an abusive relationship. That's quite an escape; she refused to escape his 'control' without full custody, nearly $11k a month in support, a million dollar house, and sticking him with the $600k in debt she racked up. Now WHO was being the control freak in this case?

While Darren snapping is an unexcusable exception to the rule, it is too bad we can't say the same for mothers who made it necessary for safe haven child abandonment laws. Apparently dumping your newborn in a trash can to die IS excusable. Funny how feminists weren't lining up to spin Scott Peterson some sort of post partum depression excuse.

So when you search around blogspot on this case, keep in mind which side of this argument is asking for a double standard for murder, full custody of children, and a fat monthly payment for 20 years plus with no accountability for any decision they've ever made.

What is pretty much shameful are blogs devoted to trashing a movement based ONLY on equal rights in parenting.

UPDATE FOR THOSE IN WASHINGTON

Not 24 hours from this post, a woman in Washington uses the safe haven law to dump her newborn kid.

Public hearings on land rezone

If you’ve got a parcel larger than 5 acres in Thurston County, you’ll want to attend the hearings this summer. Speak now or expect to have your land devalued by $200,000 or more if you’ve got a larger parcel of land.

· June 19, 2006 6:30 PM Labor and Industries Building 7273 Linderson Way
· August 3, 2006 6:30 PM Worthington Center @ St Martin’s University

Fascism feeds on apathy. I was surprised that only 2 people showed up to the forum of Thurston County jacking nearly all permit fees by 2-10X. Landowners are a little too apathetic on these issues and the environmental extremists have pretty much won on this front. The rezone is part of a larger strategy to rid the county of people and return it to the song birds and fish. Big thanks to the Gregoire appointed GMA hijacking.

If you haven’t followed what has gone down in Thurston, it looks chronologically like this:

· GMA- Moratoriam: Your 10 acres are frozen for any development
· CAO- Critical Areas Ordinance: Your 10 acres now have 3 times the critical areas.
· Permit Money Mint Boondoggle; It will now cost 2-10X to remove the critical areas imposed above.
· Rezone- While you weren’t paying attention, your 10 acres has been rezoned from R5 to R10 or R20.

I’m all for preserving rural quality, I’m 100% against this generation of environmentalists moving in, shutting the gate behind them while sticking every landowner with a $100,000 tab to preserve the view from their living room AND the new cost of their schools and roads.

For more information on the land devaluation at work check the Thurston County Money Minting website link below

Judge in Nevada::All politics are local

What if there were a Rodney King style of trial every day and no one rioted? What is the difference between Darren Mack (who shot Judge Charles Weller) in Nevada and every person rioting in LA after the Rodney King verdict?

Color.

Water finds its own level. So does justice. When judges like Weller are consistently out of bounds and the checks and balances that are supposed to keep them in line fail out of neglect or cronyism, the lack of oversight instead fuels the corruption; what should society expect as the outcome? I’m not advocating in this case, I’m reporting.

This judge had 10X the number of appeals on his rulings than any other in that jurisdiction. (Hey Thurston County, does this sound like someone on our bench?) Keep in mind this extends beyond anti male prejudice, as many women complain of similar treatment by these same judges. That makes for a lot of rich lawyers. Who judges the judges? No lawyer in the jurisdiction of a sitting judge will run against an incumbent.

We are not a third world country; we are better than the Wellers and Macks of this world. We are better because we are capable of correcting injustice before an injustice run amuck corrects it for us; if not, we are no better than the bananna republics where people disappear and no one asks questions (unless you're a hot blonde Halloway).

We should not let riot or suicidal protests be the only effective impetus for doing the right thing; unless you desire to have the Darren Macks and LA rioters of this world to be proven not only effective and right, but also necessary for the rest of us to live free.

Duke rape : Human cloning?

Apparently the accuser cloned herself and the 3 accused prior to the rape

Accuser's word + the photos with watch faces prove human cloning or wrinkle in time?

She was being gang raped in a back room at the same time she was being photographed dancing in the living room. Miracles never cease.

TIMBER!!!! Someone is going to pay. The 3 accused in this case are going to have justice yet.

Whose got the deepest pockets now?

Why more family court Judges don’t get the Weller lead-thank-you-gram

As it is turning out, this was exactly the type of judge I rally against. If you had asked me or any family law reform activist in the country about the details of the Judge Weller shooting, you would have been told the exact story as it actually happened by only telling us the headline. I blogged on this yesterday and referenced a few of my suspicions- all of them were on the mark. Here are the other characteristics that fit the cookie cutter case of the family court screwing.

· Divorce (of course, but could be an out of wedlock child)
· Custody battle lost.
· Financially ruined by the duration of the divorce and custody battle.
· Unsubstantiated accusations of domestic violence- upheld by the Judge.
· Judge had a long record of being extremely biased.
· Extremely steep child support and temporary support payments.
· Somewhat likely he got stuck with her attorney bill too.

As I said in an earlier post, I don’t condone what happened. My only surprise is that it does not happen more often. These judges destroy lives and they do so without any regard for the law, the constitution or regard for human dignity. This judge was not unique. The killer in this case was also not unique, nor was he a hardened nut case. He was a normal guy who reacted the way a man should when his basic human rights are unlawfully violated. You go before the court expecting fairness and you get completely fleeced. Logic, reason and the actual law are out the window. The entire system is architected for that very purpose.

The divorce industry is a far bigger threat to the institution of marriage than homosexuality ever will be. The legislature needs to take notice of why it is critical to get custody decisions out of the hands of judges. There is a reason I rally on this and it’s not because I haven’t got anything better to do. We cannot continue to allow our children to be used as financial pawns by the divorce industry. People need to be treated fairly when in our courts- and apparently that is going to require taking power away from judges.

I’ll be honest. I deal with a lot of guys who have gone through what this guy has gone through. For the way decent upstanding men are destroyed in family court, it’s amazing this doesn’t happen more often. Given that this guy was pushed to his breaking point, society should be glad he took this path and not the one of the Seattle man who instead chose to take his and his daughter’s life. He too was a model citizen, until all hope was lost.

Money Minting at the Department of Ecology

If your business uses gas, oil or anything bought, sold, or hauled, expect to get an invoice from the Department of Ecology to subsidize their printing costs. Apparently the Department of Ecology is randomly sending out invoices to businesses.

It is a "hazardous waste education fee."

Saywa? Is this Gregoire's retarded environmental program or is this a Locke legacy? Businesses know how to deal with hazardous waste or they won't be in business long (and should probably be fined). Cheaters to hazardous waste disposal are criminals, they don't need education; they need prosecution. An education program is simply an excuse to not solve the problem of illegal dumping.

An education fee or education program paid for by businesses is simply moronic. Does your average consumer know how to dispose of brake fluid? What idiots thought it was fair or intelligent to hit businesses up for this fee?

How about "SAYWA GOVERNMENT FAT."

Money Minting at the Department of Licensing

Why is there a $9 application fee to renew an LLC in Washington? Does it really cost the Department of Licensing that much to stuff an envelope? It’s an online transaction. This is on top of the $50 renewal fee. Who exactly benefits by charging small businesses $59 a year to exist (other than the general fund)? There is no benefit to my business for paying this bribe. My customers don't benefit.

No service is performed by the state for this money.
No value has been created by the state.
What would happen if this renewal were every 2,3, or 5 years?
What would happen to businesses and consumers if this were a one time fee?
How is the state different than the mafia in their collection of this fee?

If the State didn’t lease buildings that sit empty for months at time, they might be able to get by without my $59 dollars. Could we perform a few less sex change operations at the tax payer's expense and let small businesses focus on things like healthcare and retirement?

Could we fire the person stuffing the envelope at $9 a lick?

Keep in mind that I work for free at my small business for the entire month of January in order to pay the various county and state agencies that have their hands in my pocket. I stopped doing business in Tacoma because the city is literally a mafia in and of itself.

Oil below 69, will retail prices follow?

Recall retail prices shot up IMMEDIATELY when crude went up...interesting how prices at the pump are buoyed. Will we see $2.80 this month? Not likely.

OK- so what to do about it.

Clearly the answer is not government price controls. However the energy companies are inviting regulation when they squeeze consumers in this manner. There are no two ways about it. This is a squeeze, energy companies can't point to crude to raise prices one day and then ignore them the next while not lowering prices.

The "it's a complex business with many variables" story is a bunch of cock and bull, especially given the fact that a single indicator justifies a 20% price spike on the uptick, but not the down.

Regulation on the other hand is a tricky game; go too harsh and you drive competitors from the market (ie empty stations and even higher prices), go too lax and the public gets screwed (ie artificially inflated prices via political games). Somewhere in the middle, states and the federal government are going to have to look at quantity and price quotas with serious tax consequences to dampen abuse of what is essentially an "oil" -ogopoly.

I'm a free market kind of guy, however the industry in this instance is inviting regulation upon itself.

"Just" Dessert? No

Regarding the family court judge shot today in Reno NV.

Even if this judge is the worst in the country, I don’t condone what happened here. There is a process for fighting back and going to a rooftop with a gun is not it when it comes to family law reform. The judges in these cases are only as problematic as the citizens who do nothing in the normal election cycles to get them off the bench.

While I don’t know if this specific man is the type of judge I rally against regularly on this blog, this is exactly the kind of action that is precipitated when the constitution is thwarted and basic human rights tossed out the window. 999 of 1000 good men will bite the bullet, but some will not. There is a reason our forefathers went to war with England. My only surprise is that this does not happen more often. The following quote sums up my speculation.

"It's just terrifying. It's very scary. It's speculation, but I would say it was the work of a disgruntled person," said Reno Justice of the Peace Harold Albright, a friend of Weller's. "Family court judges take people's children away and take property away. Those are such basic decisions that are very emotional."

Duke Lacrosse- pow, whap, bam, boom

That's the sound of the wheels coming off of the Nifong hang-man wagon. What a proud day for the NAACP to rally around this train wreck.

  • 44 ounces of booze and then some more...
  • a horse tranquilizer...(or something to that effect)
  • sex with another guy (that part we knew about)
  • A whole LOT of sex with some hardware.
  • SIX rounds of the police line ups with nothing but the Duke team before the 100% confidence choice of the 2 accused and the 90% confidence of mr "this guy w/out the moustache man"
Then, and I guess this didn't make it to the grand jury either, the other dancer first said the accusation was a "crock" and they were together for all but 5 minutes.

The families of the accused need to go after this abortion clinic of justice with a vengence.

Another non newsworthy item: Nancy (dis)Grace seems to have dropped her coverage of this case. False rape accusations just don't get the ratings like a bikini strangled blonde eh?

Apply to serve on editorial board

Today at 5 p.m. is the deadline for submitting self-nominations to serve on The Olympian's editorial board.

The editorial board provides the voice of the newspaper through daily editorials appearing in this column. Five people serve on the board, and all have an equal say in shaping the newspaper's official editorial position.

Publisher Robert W. Ritter, Executive Editor Vickie Kilgore and Editorial Page Editor Mike Oakland are the three permanent members of the board.

They are joined by two community representatives who serve four-month stints on the board. Community representatives are invited to sit in on all editorial board meetings, ask questions of guests, review and comment on draft editorials before they are published and bring suggestions for editorials to the board. The time commitment is up to five hours per week. On occasion, community members even write the first draft of an editorial.

If you are interested in serving on the board during the December-through-March term, send a self-nomination via e-mail to news@theolympian.com or fax it to 360-357-0202. Tell us about yourself, from your family roots to educational background, from work experience to community involvement. Tell us why you want to serve on the board and what you would bring to our deliberations.

Wouldn't it have been better for their kids (and the taxpayers) if they had joint custody?

Annual debtor's prison round up.

Happy Fathers day from the Snohomish County Mafia. Watch for other counties to begin their round ups too.

According to godfather prosecutor in Snoho: All of the targets must be wife beaters or have completely abandoned their kids. It's all about the kids of course, but he fails to mention exactly when will they begin arresting custodial parents for interfering with parenting plans.

Wait a minute... isn't it a violation of the constitution to put someone in jail for owing money?

For you black folks out there, you'll want to notice a trend. They only go after the richest debtors who also happen to be white. With fatherlessness being around 70% in the black community, do you reckon there's a bit of a conflicting agenda here regarding helping the children who need it most?

Where's Rev Marvin Charles on this issue? Nevermind, he's living on a federal grant that DSHS awarded him to keep his Uncle Tom mouth shut. Amazing how the NAACP is pretty much silent on this issue as well. Yeah that Duke case must be keeping them up at night.

They say the money is going directly to the children, but what they really mean is the money is going directly to mommy who can then go and get her hair done, head to the mall or take a vacation. Afterall, being a single mom with full custody is demanding work. Good thing you hired a good lawyer to make sure that your ex was reduced to nothing more than a child support payment.

That last paragraph might sound a bit harsh, but the biggest complaint waged by NCP's is that the money they pay IS NEVER SPENT ON THEIR KIDS. Isn't it great how our state can reduce a child to a financial commodity and human shield with the same set of laws?

No virgins for al-Zarqawi

The sultan of severed heads is in a special place now. I’m no expert on Islam, but I’ll offer my speculation on his eternal slumber free of charge. The special resting place for our pocket knifed pinkerton of terror is not likely to be heaven. The after-life, much like life, is a journey; albeit an eternal one. Here’s a preview of al-Zarqawi’s.

A bus load of premenstral hairy legged Olympia war protesters with really bad breath will greet al-Zarqawi in the after life. The bus will pick him up just outside of Black Rock City Nevada after Labor Day weekend. Like a bad bus ride on a hot day in grade school, bus seating will be 2 and 3 people per seat. Expect a cozy fit because our war protestors love driving down Hiway 420 and have the bellies and saddle bags to prove it. The AC on the bus is of course busted as is the porta potty in the back. In fact the blue-green water runs up the aisle everytime the bus stops to pick up another member of the al-Zarqawi troop.

Tempers will be flaring and there couldn't be less common courtesy at a Walmart parking lot on this eternal bus ride because it’s been a hard week (or was it a lifetime) of partying out in Black Rock City. The BO of al-Zarqawi’s new harpy harem is as unbeliveablely terrible as much of the repetitiously bad art back on the playa, but not half as bad as the incessant nagging he will receive on the need for nonviolent solutions to disagreements. “We know the west is evil, but we just want to understand why you are angry.” On and on into eternity.

Good riddance. Congratulations to Iraqi s who may yet get a day without terror.

Tough day to be a protestor when the bad guys are losing.

Watada thought they said trains

On the day of bootcamp when they explained that members of the military actually carry out orders, Ehren Watada was visiting the nurse getting the wax cleaned out of his ears.

All of his life he had the mistaken impression that he would get to create public policy and hold lengthy debates with his superior officers about the need or legitimacy of each order and the absolute contribution to mankind of each mission. Imagine his surprise when we invaded Iraq and actually had to go and kill terrorists who murder civilian men, women and children just for the media value!

I can't be too difficult on the sunshine soldier. Despite the mountain of gratitude I have for members of the military who do carry out their orders (like them or not), I value the freedom of saying no if I disagree with my employer and the ability to quit if my job if I don't like it.

Thank goodness I didn't have that pesky ear wax.

Trust me on the Fascism.

The real reason people vote against Democrats has been proven by political scientists. In my own meandering experience, I think its because they are really the party of "fascists" when it comes to freedom.

The special San Diego race was supposed to be [a major] turning point against the GOP, but wasn't. Of course you would never have known the outcome reading CNN, the Seattle Times, or the Zero today. I caught it on Sound Politics. Since the sky didn't fall for the GOP today, the race didn't make headlines. Schucks, maybe they'll defeat the great Satan Bush next month. At least Haliburton stock was down today.

I'm not going to waste a lot of energy blogging on the gay thing. I don't care. The only reason I have blogged this much on the issue is because for some really strange reason the gay community is not comfortable enough with their own sexuality to allow the rest of us be at peace. In case you didn't get the memo: WE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SEXUALITY UNTIL YOUR RUBBED OUR NOSES IN IT. What is pathetic is that they feel most of country (and more specifically Washington state given the Eyman news) is in agreement with them, but are vehemently against letting the voters decide. Yep, sure, we believe you. You know best. Voters are suckers anyway.

What the hell am I saying? This victimhood mentality for creating special classes of minorities is complete fascism. Still I'm not going to waste energy getting side tracked on what is essentially a queer eye for the straight guy cat fight.

In the preceding post I suggested that equality wasn't what the gay agenda was really about. This morning I read Glen Sacks newsletter (great read, and worth parroting). In California there is a bill for DV support for gays....which excludes guess who????? The purpose of AB 2051 is to provide funding for services for gay and lesbian victims of domestic violence. ... it excludes--and makes a specific point of excluding--heterosexual men and their children. So I don't feel I'm too far off the mark to say that fascism is the word of the week; a central government deciding what is morally good/bad and then using discrimination to elevate the enlightened minority.

To be sure- I'm not a homophobe nor would homophobia drive me from voting Democrat. Here's what would:

0- Fathers rights. Despite the number one proponent for shared parenting in the Washington legislature being a Democrat, most of the rest of the party are bigots when it comes to equality for both parents.

1- The estate tax. I started from nothing and have every reason in the world to NOT be successful, but I've worked insanely hard and sacrificed my entire life to retire comfortable and to pass it on to my kids. There is no way I'm going to vote for anyone saying the government needs to take my money when I die. NO!

2- The border. Yeah I wish the GOP actually had a backbone on this issue. Secure it already. Gregoire changes her story like she does her underwear. She won’t send the guard to secure it, she won’t demonstrate that Washington will use homeland security money effectively (fire departments giving away smoke detectors with this $?????) and then complains because DC cuts the funding. HEY CHRISTINE- A BIG METH DISTRIB CENTER WAS BUSTED IN ASTORIA THIS WEEK…guess where the meth came from? MEXICO. Southwest Washington can thank Christine for the extra meth in distribution there.

3- Spending. It would be nice if our current president weren’t a Democrat on this issue
4- Energy Policies and Foreign policy. The current one isn’t golden, but you aren’t winning my vote without a better one.

But trust me on the fascism…

Eyman branch of government

Jedi knight with clipboard goes into aggressive negotiations with press today.

NOTE: This post contains a few editorial cheap shots...I usually refrain from goofing on politicians personally.

Maybe Gregoire should take a clue and dress up as something other than the Witch of the West for press conferences. Not to take cheap shots at gays and Gregoire in the same post, but how can we be certain she didn't take that little dog from Dorothy?

On a serious note, the repeal of the special classification of gays will be an interesting vote to watch. On the one hand equal parenting advocates have been speculating on the impact of gay marriage and custody laws; that is we've always believed that if there was substance to their argument, the alignment to gain equality in family court would be an easy alliance, unfortunately I've seen in lobbying efforts that gays/gay activists blatantly believe discrimination against heterosexual males in family court is just fine. That is, you are entitled to joint custody and full parenting rights if you are gay and not related to the child by blood, but deserve no rights if you are hetero and happen to be the child's biological father.

From my personal perspective, equality is not what is on the gay agenda. In fact, 99% of voters, employers, land lords etc really don't give a damn about your sexuality until you start rubbing their noses in it- which in fact is happening. It's tough to argue that anyone likes to have their nose rubbed in the carpet about your sexuality and voter reaction will likely be appropriate.

Other initiatives that will help set legislators right on who they represent.

-Eliminating the death tax
-Compensating landowners for government land theft
