I’m on vacation and took today to visit a few offices on open PDA’s with the county.
First some general notes for the visting Pundit fans at government IP addresses.
Thanks to the offices I visited- a few of our county employees GET the notion of service and that you are there to serve the public- not the other way around. Unfortunately I won’t include the Thurston County Court Administrator Marti Maxwell in those awarded accolades. However if any of our Pundit fans would like to impart a public records request or educate her on the importance of open government- you can reach her at the following email: Maxwellm@co.thurston.wa.us. Since the Courts don’t provide electronic means of contacting Marti - We at the Pundit are going to do the public the great service of continuing to provide that contact info as frequently as is appropriate.
Not to omit our gratitude to Marti- Hey- w/out you crooks in the courts- there wouldn’t be us here…so the public REALLY owes you a debt of gratitude for behavior so abhorrent and rotten that you created an entire community of people pissed off and able enough to fill our role on the father’s rights movement (Thurston is fast becoming the capital for Wa). Nice job. Really.
Next:
Dang! There are some nutty ass people submitting PDR’s. Now I’m a hell of a writer (patting my own back) and while at times I draft some of my extra curricular activist work on a meal of Glenlivet and snickerdoodles- in my wildest dreams I could not invent the stuff I read today. Double wow. Even for Olympia- that stuff was golden comedy and at times I nearly fell off my chair; my heartfelt sympathy to the gang servicing those requests on crapola government salaries. On the flipside I’ll also say that PDR’s are the best way of turning over rocks in our government- some real gems of what’s on the underbelly were turned over this afternoon.
Lastly:
I’ll send the following HINT to the DV community- Although our numerous attempts to reach out to stakeholders in the DV mafia have resulted in jack squat from you in reaching a compromise for shared parenting legislation; while you have used every method of public funding and media to spread lies and false information to the public; while you use human shields to violate the constitution at every avenue and while you haven’t displayed an iota of common sense and have instead used every grant dollar in your capacity illegally to stop us from having (in the absence of abuse or neglect) good fathers awarded access to their kids. I’m going to throw you a bone. One of the organizations I visited today- who is funded with truckloads of YOUR violence against women money has a gaping hole that I could drive said truck through in protecting recipients of protection orders. (insert dah ta dummm trumpet music here) I was a little beside myself when I saw it in fact. Out of some professional courtesy- I’m not going to publicize the hole or where I found it- but rest assured I will politely see that it gets closed with that agency.
I’ll hold my breath while I wait for the thank you note. I look forward to seeing said DV mafia again down at the 2009 legislature- I’ll be on vacation time- you’ll most likely be on the public pay roll. Be sure to roll out 9 battered crying women this time- that water works gig seems to really be working well with Senator Hargrove and the fellow female Senators holding his nuts in a vice.
