N. Thurston levy passes

I really wish more people would take a look at their property tax bills and question the quality of education delivered for the dollars spent. It's absurd on multiple levels.

  • Parents are not involved as stakeholders in their children's education (putting aside the father's rights angle for a minute) nor the institution; many hours for after school soccer, TV, but few hours for math, reading, and other academics.
  • Students not taking ownership over their own education.
  • Overhead to chief to indian to student ratio in the budget.
It's even more absurd when you condsider the union is blocking performance pay for teachers who attempt to inch the bar higher.
