Love letters in the sand

Pulled this love letter from a custodial parent to the child support work group. The CS work group is bunch of hacks in DSHS along with Judge Pomeroy here in Thurston who want to increase the amount of income redistribution that goes with every divorce.

Note that these people feel that a dad buying the kid ANYTHING is a bribe- while the mom is entitled to use every nickle of child support to get in over her head on a house beyond her means. At 700 a month, she could rent the kids their own freaking apartment (by coincidence: 700 is about 2 1/2 MONTHS of grocery receipts for two adults in our house which includes eating filet mignon twice a week). A peep was curious about what this woman's plan for paying the mortgage is going to be when the kids turn 18.

Question: If this woman can't afford the kids, the dad is loaded and spends time with them, why doesn't the dad have primary custody? It sounds like she'd rather not spend any energy focusing on her own career in favor of sucking at the child support work group tit for more money.

I'll note once again- the work group has spent no time looking for ways to improve the lives of kids with 2 parents near the poverty level. Proof again that this group of hacks are about loading up the DSHS/County Court internal money train and NOT about the kids. Last year they spent their time (including another judge from Thurston) trying to figure out how to stick the non-custodial parent with tuition for private school.

Anyone want to bet there's some trips to the nail salon she's not including in the expense list?

I'd like to describe my situation to you and hear what the workgroup recommends to rectify it.

In July 2006 I moved to Washington from Southern California due to a mandatory relocation. In December 2006 I had a hearing in the California court regarding child support and visitation. Each of us (the parents) had submitted our expense declarations to the court and the court recalculated the child support at $1735 a month. I made about $80,000 a year and my ex made $160,000 a year. In April, it was determined that California was an inconvenient forum because neither party lived in the state any more. When jurisdiction was moved to Washington, Washington applied their child support guidelines and my child support was reduced to $703 a month. Nothing changed for either of us in our expense delcarations, the only change was jurisdiction. The state of Washington has put me in a negative financial situation every month, because I had already purchased my home, and now do not have enough to make the payment without borrowing off of my credit cards. My situation has deteiorated drastically. I've talked to realtors to try to sell my house, but the market is such that I'm now upside down in my mortgage. I'm still borrowing to make my payments, but the credit card payments are now too high for me to meet. My ex, however, is now in a situation where "dad" can buy our child lots of things that "mom" can not, because mom is now facing financial ruin. I've depleted my 401k, I have no more resources. I contacted a Consumer Credit Help recommended through HUD, but they said that since I'm not late on anything, they can't help me. They said I should contact an attorney about bankruptcy. I don't want to ruin my credit. The state of Washington has created this situation and there is no recourse offered to help me unless I start dodging my responsibilities to lenders. I'm a very responsible person and I really don't want to do that. I just need my child support back so I can pay the mortgage. I bought in an area that has good schools for my child, but it is pricey.

In California, child support does NOT have a cap. I think Washington needs to do away with that, too. Child support should be designed so that whether the child is at dad's or mom's house, the quality of life is similar. In the past, I'm the one that paid for all of my child's extracuricular activities. Now, I can't afford to enroll her, and her father doesn't care. The child is now in a situation where, she knows mom can't afford to buy her this or that, and she rarely sees dad, so, she doesn't ask.

I think that Washington needs to research the way California determines child support and adopt it. In California, it is based on income. The expense declarations allow for mortgage payments to come into consideration as well as union dues, taxes, etc. It is designed so that neither party has the upper hand to bribe the child. Washington created a situation for me, that makes it so that "mom" can't provide any fun things to do or any neat things to buy, but "dad" can. Dad is now in a position where he can use the money situation to try to bribe the child. It's sad and it's sick. It's also not fair, because I bought my home based on what I was receiving in child support and my pay. Then Washington takes away more than half of my child support. And with the market the way it is, I can't sell. I've worked really hard. I started with my agency only making $17,500 a year, and now, after almost 20 years, I make over $80,000. My ex makes over $160,000 and we work for the same agency. Why should child support have been reduced just because jurisdiction changed? The finances didn't change. My mortgage didn't get reduced. Oh, but Washington has a $7,000 cap on child support. Why? Isn't that way out dated? If the two parents both make decent incomes, shouldn't that cap be null?

As to the issue of other children from other relationships, I don't think that they should come into consideration unless they were legally adopted by the parent in the current situation. If not, then those children have two parents that have their own support calculations to make and it shouldn't come into play in this one.

I hope to make it to the public meeting, but if I can not get a babysitter, I won't be able to. And because my money is negative each month, and the consumer credit counseling agency couldn't help me, I'm very concerned about what to do next. If Washington would give me back my child support than it would help. Though, I'm so in debt now, it may just be a matter of time. And it's not like I have anything to show for the debt. A roof over our heads it all. And I'm upside down in the mortgage now, can't sell it and rent, I just don't know what to do. I need some help, and because I have a good salary, have not been late yet on my payments, I can't qualify for any help. I'm going to have to ruin my credit, let bills go unpaid, before anyone can help me. Why did you put me in this situation? How can this be okay??

Preface. I've been reading LGF a lot lately and for those who don't frequent that blog, they seem to have a beef with intelligent design. I did once when I was a spry young lad that had all the answers, but when pondering what the second half of life offers, it's not winning the game that consumes me so much as the quality of the design. That's when intelligent design starts to make sense.

It goes something like this.

It's your choice to sit on your butt all day or not. Regardless, you still have two arms and two legs.

A trillion dollar shit sandwich

Breaking my usual aversion to profanity on the blog, because the analogy works.

Anyway about it, a shit sandwich doesn't taste good. Supposedly the markets will take a huge tumble if we don't bail out investment banks. Bush and Congress are having us believe that if we all would take just a small bite of this shit sandwich, that it won't be so bad and they PROMISE this will be the last bail out until the next one.

Screw that! Some lessons are hard learned and many of us living w/in our means are extremely recession proof. Bring it on and let these pricks go down with their house of cards.

What's the lesson if we bail them out? It's ok- run your ship as corrupt as you want, the nanny government will come to the rescue?

Take away the risk for recession, you take out the probability for an upside.

No- let's let the few in power positions eat this trillion dollar shit sandwich on their own. Those of us who are smart with our money will be buying up huge lots of blue chips while Wall Street is having a sale.

Watch them cash in on Mary Catherine White

Shawn Roe, hell holds a special place for you…

I was a little busy when the story broke on Mary Catherine White losing her job as a teacher at Nisqually Middle School for packing a gun for protection, so I didn’t get a chance to blog on it.

She was right and she did exactly the right thing.

Question: Where was the DV industry on helping Mary protect herself?

Answer: Nowhere, because it didn’t involve extorting money or kids with a protection order or creating 11 new positions in L&I to go and fine the school for not giving Mary paid leave. With the exception of her parents, Mary White was on her own.

Mary realized how worthless the DV industry and the courts are at protecting actual victims and took matters into her own hands. Notice how Mary chose to stop being a victim subject to Roe’s terror?

Bet your ass the DV industry will be front and center at the next hearing for Shared Parenting in the legislature equating EVERY father in divorce and custody battle to be Shawn Roe. They will argue that every woman claiming to be Mary should get de facto full custody of the kids and the alleged Roe should be forever wiped out of their kids lives- no proof required; sort of how things already operate here in Thurston’s courts. The DV industry does this in spite of the fact that Shared Parenting legislation has a ton of safeguards accounting for abuse and neglect.

Shawn Roe wasn’t a criminal for DV - he was a perpetrator of violence to anyone in his path.

After the tragedy of the murders of Kristine Fairbanks and Richard Ziegler have faded from the public eye- proponents of Shared Parenting will be hearing the DV industry using Mary’s situation as a case study of how women in trouble cannot get help and are abused for ages with no hope for escape. Every year they trot out some victim who turns on the water works in front of the legislature- and every year the bill dies in committee. Republican Val Stevens seems to be one of the buyers of this dog and pony show- yet the DV industry is currently stabbing her in the back for a hand puppet named Wasler.

I have to note the irony that Mary’s story was largely ignored by police and the courts. That’s because when every woman they talk to claims to be Mary, nobody gets to be Mary.*

That doesn’t make the Roe’s go away- it just means a lot of hapless and innocent guys get the same handling as Roe while the real Roes still go on to kill.

Why? Because the Domestic Violence industry is not about protection or prevention, it’s about the racket of fleecing broken families and activist therapy for a bunch of mentally unstable men-haters claiming to speak for all women. It’s about next year’s grant money to Thurston County for slinging 20% more protection or creating an even bigger “special DV court” for handing out even MORE worthless protection orders. In the end, everyone gets screwed but the guys and gals collecting the money. But hey- maybe someone will give Ed, Chris and Paula some more artwork to hang in Thurston’s courthouse depicting all men as Shawn Roe.




*Coincidentally, Representative Geoff Simpson’s wife claims to be a Mary on every 3rd 911 call.

Val's chickens coming home to roost

Senator Val Stevens not only swallowed the femi-nazi sack of lies ---hook, line, and sinker---against the latest shared parenting bill and helped the lobby keep the pro-family legislation buried in committee- she has refused to take ANY meetings on the topic.

Now her opponent Fred Wasler is slinging mud that Val is all about blaming the victim when it comes to Domestic Violence.

Pomeroy's pet projects

Judge Pomeroy had a choice write up in the Zero today bemoaning the impacts of budget cuts to the courts.

What Pomeroy failed to mention is the amount of resources they burn in non public service capacities- ie their pet projects. Pomeroy herself serves on the incestuous Child Support Work group for the legislature (an optional position) which meets regularly and usually during business hours (making it difficult for working stiffs to attend). Previously Wickham held this post. This past year the courts also arranged to have a court employee serve on this work group (in the capacity of a private citizen) and had her charge the time back to the county.**** This is the tip of the iceberg

Meanwhile- most of the judges are making a habit out of NOT hearing arguments on divorce and custody cases to plough through their schedules and seem to be spending the rest of their time on activism (ie making the courts bigger and less serviceable to the public). As usual, as long as the right people get paid and the "right" people win, it doesn't matter if a facade of justice is presented. None of this activity has subsided with additional staff - in fact based on the feeders to the Pundit rumor mill, it has increased substantially in the past few years.

Perhaps a substantial drop in revenue is EXACTLY what this county needs.


****The employee was paid through the county on a grant from the CS work group organizers in DSHS and later resigned/quit after some ahem...."community organizers" issued numerous complaints. I've been informed that DSHS has since replaced her with a woman whose name matches a government employee who also deals with grant money from Olympia.

The Liberal Hypocrisy of the Separation of Church and State

What Liberals really mean by separation of Church and state is let's get rid of Christianity. That is not what Thomas Jefferson intended or even stated. But, that is a fight for another time. Go read the original documents if you are interested in the truth behind Jefferson's letter.

Can you imagine the outrage if we were going to spend this week teaching kids the origins of Christianity, read from the Holy Bible and discussing why Christ said put no idols or other Gods before him. Imagine a good lesson on the Ten Commandments and the heroes of the faith. The ACLU would be breathing down the teacher's and school's collective throats like a buzzard on road kill. The Feminazis, Gays and the Libs would be screaming bloody murder. Oh wait, those are the same groups now teaching our kids. You do remember our tax payer dime and public schools sponsoring a trip to Seattle to see the Dalai Lama last year and teaching the kids Buddhism.

None the less, this week North Thurston Junior High Students will be studying the "Five Pillars of Islam", the growth of Islam and discussing the contributions of Islam. I imagine the latter to include the advances of women in fashion and equal rights. Perhaps they will be discussing the open minded acceptance and tolerance of Homosexuals in Arab Countries. Maybe they will discuss the advances in suicide bombing and how effective children can be in such campaigns. My guess is they will focus on it as the "Religion of Peace." How nice.

This Thursday we will be remembering the 3,000+ Americans that were killed in the twin towers by Islamic Terrorists on 9-11. We will also remember the soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and the world in stopping the growth of Islam. Quite Ironic.
