I avoid Olympia proper as much as I possibly can. I don't shop there and I try to avoid dining there if I can think of an alternative. Why? The place is an arm pit and has become more so in line with the volume of the "We hate America" crowd that infests downtown and nearby areas.
That's why I was pleasantly surprised by something I saw on my last drive through. SOMEONE has been taking down graffiti and vandalism. If this is a conscious effort by the city council and ops team to get after a huge problem- I applaud the effort. If it's one or more private citizens taking this on their own doing and expense, I applaud very loudly.
A private citizen with a five dollar can of Goof Off can save tax payers thousands in prevention. Not only that, but it sends a message to the punks who perpetrate this garbage that it won't be tolerated.
PS- The super hero name for private citizens who fight graffiti is "the ass of justice." Welcome to the league.

Yep, an armpit is about the best description for the hell hole of a pond called Olympia. It's what you get when you mix in radical gender ideologues (feminists), homosexuals and pussified males and stir it together with Unitarian socialist big government drones.
Andy, thank you so much for not coming downtown, we don't need any more assholes who do nothing but complain. We need people who are willing to get involved in drowning out the negative minority with positive action. That's why I organize events downtown, that's why I work for candidates who get positive things done, and that's why I spent the last three months working hard on doing an inventory of our alleys in order to set priorities to get them cleaned up and to get the general public involved here.
Your uninformed comments are pointless and pathetic. Put up or shut up.
Wow. "Rob Richards" completely proves the point, right? Think like WE DO or you are an "asshole." What a grand and tolerant thinker you are, Rob. Put up or shut up? Here is hoping those who disagree with you NEVER shut up. As hard as you try to bully them into doing so. By the way, I need some needles, man. And some condoms. And some blankets, man. And some Michael Moore movies. Rock on!
If you're the same "anonymous" that posted above, you've got very little room to criticize me. At least I'm calling for action, not just calling names.
I like it a lot when people who disagree with me voice their opinion to me and debate me on issues, that's how I learn, and get to know other people in my community.
As far as tolerance goes, I really don't feel the need any longer to be tolerant of people who trash talk my neighborhood without dropping a single bead of sweat to do anything in the community. I work too hard to be deterred by stagnant negativity.
There is a meeting every other Friday at the Mixx96 conference room on the corner of State and Washington where an ideologically diverse group meets to talk about downtown and ways to improve it as a public space and neighborhood. Everyone is welcome to come, and "Anonymous", you can even wear a mask if that would make you more comfortable.
