Sotomayor is a racist- end of story

A racist is a racist is a racist. The left's logic on Sotomayor's comment on a "wise latina woman" reaching a better decision does not even begin to pass the smell test. The comment she made is racist. The argument she was making was racist.

Automatic DQ. Americans need to call foul. If we are really going to have a post racial society, this BS cannot be tolerated from anyone's mouth. Shame this woman and her race-baiting ilk back to the stone age.

How the car czar works

Michelle Malkin's team may have a total monopoly on the news if this keeps up. Let's hope MSM dies a very painful death in the process. In case you missed the initial cut it's called "Dealergate." It works like this, in government run enterprises you either donate to the Obama or Clinton campaigns or get shut down.

Government ownership of a major industry player; how could this possibly go wrong? Short on managment skills? Hire Chicago's Blago, I hear he's in need of a gig.

Nice that the hard hitting Call it Not News network is covering the President's night out in New York as this unfolds.

Christine Gregoire: yanking health care from poor and elderly

MSM is jumping on the story of nixing truckloads of people from the public dole today because the state system is bankrupt.

Sugar daddy socialism is fun until you run out of other people's money to spend eh Christine? Maybe the Governor and members of the legislature who voted for free health care should give up their entire salaries so these 40,000 people can have this "basic right."

There is a silver lining to Rossi losing in 2008. Christine and the Democrat legislature made this mess, they get to own it for at least two more years.

I don't care and neither should you

As we all know, when the nation needs hard hitting commentary on US and geo political events, they [they = Americans + some legal and illegal immigrants] turn to Thurston Pundits for answers.

Here's the answers I have on nominating Sotomayor:
  • I don't care how your name is pronounced
  • I don't care what gender you are
  • I don't care how rich or poor your mommy and daddy were
  • I don't care what perceived disabilities you have
  • I don't care where you grew up
  • I don't care where you went to college
  • I don't care how much MSM is hyping your life story
  • and (GASP) I don't care what race you are

Why? I am a conservative and I just don't care about those things in a US Supreme Court Justice. Demanding a compelling life story and ethnicity isn't a "higher qualification," as Obama puts it, it's racist and bigoted.

Sotomayor's background might make a nice book to read; as Americans love a good Horatio Alger story. I personally intend to read the Clarence Thomas book (two reasons: his life story is compelling and it deals with fatherhood). However if these factors have anything to do with how this woman will interpret the rule of law, I don't want her as a Justice.

Justice is blind. The founders intended it that way. What we need is someone from the grown ups table to step up and put the smack down on the kindergarten self esteem party that goes with the down trodden check box on the SCOTUS nomination and get on with finding out what sort of Judge this woman is.

If empathy for any party impacts a ruling in a decision, America is lost.

RE: You can say that again, Mr. President

Michelle Malkin expands on pop-star-in chief's comments that veterans don't get the respect they deserve... mostly from Obama's own ranks.

Malkin usually does a pretty good job, however she omitted our local Port of Olympia protesters from the long list of dirt bags who live for kicking sand in the face of America's veterans.

Please remember that the other side of the street was also filled with men and women who support both the troops and the mission. Don't let the simple fact that your supporters have jobs and lives (and refuse to go downtown if we can avoid it) which prevent us from countering every parade the largely unemployed or government employed kool aid left hold lead you to think we aren't here supporting you.

Thanks.

Notre Dame: Do the right thing

God and pro-life are not the political issues I hang my coat on. I do happen to agree with those who fight for these issues.

However, God is exactly where the institution of Notre Dame hangs their hat. So ND, are you an institution of principles or of flash? I'm sure many a celebu-tard would be happy to sub for the pop star in chief.

If you are an institution steeped in faith, you have no bloody business inviting a partial birth abortion proponent to speak at graduation. This is like having Mahmoud Ahmadinejad deliver commencement at West Point.

Notre Dame should do the right thing and send the baby killer packing to deliver a speech at UC Berkeley. Obama and his stardom are temporary, the loss of your integrity is not.

Mrs Andy brought it home for me. I'm having a tough time putting it down.

Be an American, boycott Chrysler

The kicker is, American's have been doing just that. The cars already drive like the ones made by [the government in the era of] communist Russia, so this won't be hard.

My stimulus package

The daily zero noted today how many job losses are coming to Hazard on account of state government layoffs. Too bad that the reality is the local economy is dependant on the government tit.

I’m of the opinion that no net new jobs in this Washington will be created as a result of the pork-u-lous bill in the other Washington. On the other hand, here’s something that would have created net new jobs by giving real tax breaks to those of us who actually pay taxes. What it amounts to is allowing people to spend their own money instead of the government picking winners and losers. If this had been the path taken, many of us with money squirrelled away would have jumped at the opportunity to put some folks to work.

1- Allow complete write off in 1 year of remodel or new building projects on personal residences (anything with a permit).
2- Bump up depreciation on business vehicles to 1 year
3- Bump up capital loss from 3/year to 10k.
4- Make the first personal auto a deduction (starting 2010)
5- Bump up depreciation on capital purchases to 1 year for the next 2 years.
