Both Snaza and Mealy proceed to November ballot

Got a letter from elections today as I forgot to sign my ballot, I called to see if I could fax in the form, and while chatting I inquired about the nail biter Sheriff's race.

Both candidates move on to the November ballot. Only the justices races are decided in the primary

Incidentally a mandatory recount is required if the race is not decided within 1/4 of 1 percent.

Doing back of the envelope math it looks something like this:

1% of 100k = 1k and 1/4 of that would be 250
votes.

There were 60k ballots cast in the Hazard county
primary.

That seems straight forward, but there is a lot of room for contention. Ie, post marks, military ballots etc.

Quick- somebody call Dean Logan. Obama may be able to create or save a job for him in the next election cycle.
