I was watching this all over CNN this morning and wondering what they were up to with this seemingly non-story. A few planes were identified and grounded with hazardous materials as they continued to flash back to 9-11'esque pictures of planes on the tarmac ALL MORNING LONG. It seemed like business as usual. UPS and Security just doing their jobs. Why is this a story? Imagine, in other news, we are tracking a Safeway truck en route for the West Olympia store that may have bad lettuce aboard. Dumb Ass in Chief to address the nation later today. This administration and this media are really, really getting old. Gee, never waste a tragedy or crisis to distract the American people. Even a seemingly fabricated one.

It seems Angler was drafting some entertainment references about the same time I thinking of how absolutely awesome it would be if this classic show from our youth were made with the same 3D craftsmanship as went into that tree hugging epic barf bag released last year. Recall once upon a time entertainment did not portray us as the bad guys? The top grossing act on the road this year was . . . Bon Jovi. Sorry Taylor and "King George" but country isn't king, not this year. Granted Kenny didn't tour and U2 had to reschedule to next year. I'd guess U2 and Kenny will top the list for 2011. However, in 2010 the Circle Tour that started out in February right here in Seattle after a brief tune up in Hawaii was the King. They hung out in the Emerald City for a couple of weeks before hitting it in earnest and it was a great show. One of the best versions of "Hallelujah" I've ever heard live. Rumor has it that JBJ and the boyz made a ton off Microsoft stock back in the day before making it really big with the Music. So, they evidently have a fondness for Seattle. In their mid to late 40's and they still "got it." JBJ, you da man!

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Elasticity in tax revenue: Or what happens after the Bush tax cuts expire

The bottom line is tax rates have an effect of elasticity. Similar to Washinton State's new cigarette tax increase driving net tobacco tax revenue down by >25% due to the black market, tax revenue in 2011 will plummet as smart investors adjust their portfolios to avoid the new capital gains rates.

First in 2010:

Investors will take profits before Jan 1, 2011 to enjoy the 15% current
rate. At the same time they will position their portfolios to avoid having to be forced to take any capital gains in the coming years.

Second in 2011-2014:

As the market sluggishly recovers, investors will begin taking losses in 2011 to wash out gains at the higher rates. For instance in the stock market, many investors hung onto their Citigroup, GE, and other assets (like real estate) that are performing like dogs in order to wash out some gain later on.

I see this stunting capital gains revenue indefinitely as investors attempt to wait out the socialist regime in the White House. Remember 95% of tax revenue comes from 5% of the people at the higher brackets. These are smart cookies and they know how to beat DC armed with nothing more than an Excel spreadsheet. With gains and earnings not moving around, this will in turn result in less investments yielding jobs.

Add to this all the other wealth and income penalties going in motion in 2011 and the IRS is going to be holding a bake sale to keep the lights on in DC. You chumps out of work should think about investing in a 10,000,000,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, cuz your going to be home for a while. Unless you get Washington DC (and Olympia) to stop punishing success, we are in for long cold recession.

Stick that in your socialist green jobs, free health care for all, social justice pipe and smoke it Patty Murray voters.

Nod to guys making a difference: Fathers and Families

As long time followers of this blog know, one of the core issues we follow here at the Pundit is Father's Rights.

With far left kook control of the Washington Legislature and Governor's mansion, we've at best been able to stem the rise of dad hating laws here in the State of Washington. Were it not for the fact that they've run out of other people's money to spend, we'd be in a world of worse hurt when it comes to screwing over non-custodial parents in Washinton State.

California is just as bad, minus Gubernator Arnold holding the mansion. That makes the recent accomplishments of Fathers and Families in California and other states that much more impressive.

This year Fathers and Families led the passage of seven different family law bills nationwide, as Governor Schwarzenegger recently signed the remaining three California F & F bills. Now that one of the Pundits have published their endorsements, there will be a massive shift in the polls! OK, maybe not. In this county, I'm a pebble in the ocean. This isn't going to change anyone's mind around here. But, without this blog, those around me would have to hear me blather on and complain night and day about this aggravating socialist utopia of Olympia. I'm quite sure they are thankful for it and if you don't like me, don't read it. So, here is two cents worth (or a million dollars) from a liberty and constitution minded free market business person.

Initiatives -
Initiatives are good! That is we, the people in motion. On this ballot, all are good except I-1098 in my self aggrandized opinion. Establish an income tax? Are you kidding? Then a promise to reduce other taxes? Like that is ever going to really happen! Income tax . . . no thanks. If the attorneys (ambulance chasers) who profit from the current racket are against I-1082, that should tell you something . . . it's good for we, the people. Vote yes on I-1082, I-1053, I-1100, I-1105 and I-1107. No on I-1098. Free market and privatizing anything government ran? Score one for we, the people.

All Legislature Proposals -
REJECT, REJECT, REJECT. Is it at all obvious yet to everyone they aren't looking out for we, the people and the free market? Hello.

Rossi v. Murray -
Patty needs to go, vote Dino. Hey, that along with we need a John Wayne, not a John McCain sounds like a nice election slogan jingle for Dino.

Sam Hunt - Sam prefers to cut OTHER state employees' jobs from the dole (Layoffs) rather than each state employee assuming a stake in the game by sharing in the expense. It's what we do in the private sector where the revenue is created for you state worker leeches. A career state worker and life long politician protecting his own interests . . . time for you to go too, Sam. Term limits and limited lifetime benefits for politicians like him would be a great way to avoid voting on this scenario year after year. Vote Chris Ward. I'd vote for Mickey Mouse over Sam Hunt.

Hazard Auditor -
I voted for a DEMOCRAT!!!!!! Vote all insiders and incumbents out. See, I'm not a party hack.

Clerk, Pros. Attny, Coroner -
Typical Thurston Election. No one is running against the insider. You'd think with unemployment where it is at now that these cushy jobs would be attractive to somebody. The Hazard powers that be make sure they have their folks in place. Pays to join the Kiwanis and the other secret societys around here.

Snaza v. Mealy -
It's a non-partisan position, Deb. You are supposed to represent, serve and protect ALL people in your district. You have made it clear that you are for special privileges and rights for feminists and lefties. She'll get the Lesbian Mafia vote. That much is given. I will sleep sounder at night with Snaza as Sheriff.

Judges -
All positions but one of the Temple of Doom jobs are unopposed. Tell me the Bar Association doesn't control Justice in this county and state. I have never known a bigger bunch of socialist wimps in my life as these Thurston attorneys. All of you are gutless wimps. Again, a pretty cushy job up for grabs. Kind of beats draggin' dead beats and divorcees in and out of court for half the pay. Wimps, Losers and cowards all of you. No guts, no glory and, evidently no justice for all in these courts. Been there, done that, bought a couple T-shirts.

Director of Elections -
Let's not forget who, in the end (pardon the play on words) counts the votes . . . Unopposed (prefers the Democrat Bully Feminist Party) Judge Paula Casey's lawyer husband who was appointed (because with his past couldn't withstand the scrutiny of an election process) to the Director of Elections by long time Rhino and Hazard County insider Sam Reed. Hey, who needs impartiality and integrity in the office that counts the votes?

In Summary -
I guess I can only hope for a few victories in this election at best. It is just plain depressing to think this is the best we, the people can do at putting together an election that represents the true American spirit. What happened to the competitive and free, innovative spirit of America? Everybody is good at something. I guess the only thing we have become excellent at here in Hazard is collusion, shadow governments, career politicians, taxes, bully politics and bully courts. Yes, I know. All I have done is complain. Hmmm, maybe I'll get involved. Off to law school I go. Ya, right.The Angler going to law school . . . not gonna happen in a million years.

How I voted…

This is a good read for Democrats who are being tossed out on their tails right now.

Rather than a line by line run down of which candidate / initiative I’m checking off, I’ll give a recap of the decision making process for my first election 20 years ago. I was a frosh at the U of O and ooooooh boyyyyy they loved (and still love) to get naïve feel good college students who haven’t researched the candidates or issues into the voting booth.

After hearing the late Ellen Craswell rail on a year before at a speaking engagement (when I was in high school) about how she didn’t trust anyone who did not openly profess to be a close and personal friend of Jesus Christ, I assessed all Republicans to be close minded Bible beating blockheads and considered myself to be an undeclared Democrat prior to my first election season.

There were two big items on the ballot in Oregon in 1990.
· Candidate Barbara Roberts, who would be the first woman governor in the state of Oregon
· Measure 5: This would dramatically limit property taxes.

Liberal pundits warned Measure 5 would mean dramatic cut backs to education. As a student it was positioned to me as if the entire University of Oregon would be shut down if this measure passed. Even at 18 and the typical Obama voter, I was slightly skeptical of this cock and bull.

As I stepped into the voting booth I reasoned through it.
1. I’ve busted my ass so damn hard for the past 5 years so that MY college education is going to be taken care of whether this university goes bankrupt or not.
2. The world NEEDs engineers and so while women’s studies, literature for liberal racists, and other touchy feely programs would get cut to the bone, its unlikely my math and science programs would be impacted. If they were, I would find some place else to go to school.
3. While I’m a college student now (then), this situation is temporary. I intended to stay in that state for years to come. While any pain I might feel as a college student will be limited over the next 4 years, the government raping me and my family on property taxes will last forever.

On this basis, I voted for Measure 5. It passed decisively.

While I had no clue who Barbara Roberts was or what she stood for, I voted for her on the basis that it would be “cool” if a woman could be governor, thus proving myself to be what libtards now call “progressive.” To Oregonians, I am deeply sorry and apologize profusely. Obama voters ought to be delivering us the same apology today.

Although I was extremely liberal and naïve in my thinking (like the typical Obama voter of today), I was also sure that I did not have the time nor motivation to properly research the candidates or the issues in any election cycle and thought it would be irresponsible to vote without performing that due diligence in the future. Being self reliant and unattached to anything for the next decade, I did not vote again until I owned a house with land here in Thurston County and realized I was paying taxes through the nose. In the same timeframe I had gotten reamed in a divorce by a local Judge (then commissioner) who thought it was “cool” to give women preferential treatment in a court of law. A liberal democrat died that year and a conservative was born. The rest is Pundit history.

To Ellen Craswell fans. A politician doesn’t have to profess to me that they are a close personal friend of Jesus. I know and recognize them by their fruits.

Not exactly a lesson or endorsement in favor of free loaders. Yep, now that Obama is the Dem Bully in Chief, the judge has reversed his decision ordering auntie to leave the country which she violated for years. She was an illegal alien who admittedly had no intentions of ever going through the legal process to become a legal US Citizen. She feels she is entitled to it and Obama made sure of it. Oh ya, she says Jesus paid for her high powered, prominent immigration attorney from Cleveland even though she is broke and lives on the tax payer dole in Boston. She lives a very active life. She just doesn't need to work. She says YOU owe her. Unbelievable!

If this doesn't make your blood boil you need to check to make sure you still have a pulse.

Dear Dino . . . Step Up to the Plate

Dear Dino - Please don't blow this opportunity ala McCain style. Stand up and play hardball. Don't play softball with the Tennis Shoe Senator. She, Gregoire and Cantwell have to go! They are the reason Washington has become a nightmare state to do business in and businesses are leaving and jobs are scarce. Boeing is no longer a Northwest company. Imagine that! Boeing is now based in Chicago thanks to them. Do you know how many small businesses and subcontractors that will effect over the next few years? All thanks to Cantwell, Gregoire and Patty Murray. Patty Murray has the nerve to do a commercial touting American planes for American troops as thought she is 1. Pro Military and 2. Pro Northwest Jobs and Pro Boeing. Please. This Obamacare bill she signed and didn't read has no provisions or mechanisms for addressing and controlling health care/medical costs. It actually guarantees costs will go through the roof and will run all the health care insurers out of business. That's what they do . . . run the competition (the free market) out of business so the government can assume control. That is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Government jobs don't create anything and that is all they have grown during their long, self serving political careers. Patty Murray has milked us long enough. Even her aids are cashing in and walking all over our backs. . . Murray Aids cash in.

I say bring on the crooks from Washington DC that are coming out one after another in their attempts to rescue her in this tight race. Obama is now in the 60+% disapproval range and is being exposed as the socialist and incompetent poser that he is. Obama, Biden, Clinton . . . socialist elitists with their own life time benefits, pension retirement plans, private health insurance etc. So, bring on the DC support, Patty. Keep 'em coming. Maybe the sheeples will finally see you and your socialist elitist Democratic Pals for who you really are (FINALLY!).

Rob McKenna . . . I'm not your biggest fan with the whole grand standing you do every year with the Domestic Violence Awareness Month thing . . . and you call yourself a Republican. The latter makes it even worse for me. I'd rather you declared yourself a member of the socialist reform party for the feminist takeover of America movement or Mengina Unite! party of the new feminist America or some shit like that. Any "R" (or man for that matter) that can support the DV VAWA scam needs to really look in the mirror. You are a lawyer and a politician. I get that. I understand the motivating factors of both for you and the forces that control you behind each. On the surface it looks good to say you are for protecting women and being tough on violent assholes. Who among us wouldn't want that? Makes for a great photo opp and PR moment. But, we all know that new laws and vending machine restraining orders don't stop a murderer intent on harm and violence. No, they are simply political favors/capitol and bar union chess pieces that do nothing for we, the people except complicate our lives and clog up the already impotent and corrupt courts. As a REPUBLICan you are also supposed to operate under the principle that government and bigger government (and more laws) are not the solution. There are plenty of protections in place and criminal code on the books to protect women and prosecute violent assholes. Hey, btw, issuing a few .38's, training and empowering these women at risk might work. Gee, a novel concept. Occasionally I read something about you mentioning repeat violent CRIMINAL standards and actual legal due process and some form of proof or evidence required when you do discuss the crafting of such laws. I appreciate those sentiments. Suggestion . . . expand on those ideas. It won't make you popular with the Bar Union but we, the people would sure appreciate the effort. I did appreciate you when you stood up against ObamaCare earlier this year and pissed Gregoire off. It's about time somebody stood up to the Dem Bullies. I do thank you for your efforts in fighting this Health Care Bill of Destruction. All in all, you do some good things, Rob. I think you mean well. But, this whole DV thing is really not consistent with being a liberty minded, constitutional following/honoring "R." You did take your oath of office?

Shoving the Global Warming Scam down your throat . . . not so funny.

Now for some not so funny humor (really?). This humor gaffe was no surprise to me being well versed in experiencing the Lib mob mentality so pungent and pervasive in Hazard. I never thought the lefties had a sense of humor nor does this militant, non tolerant view inaccurately reflect or distort their general outlook and approach on things. It is my experience that Libs would kill you if they could for having a different view than theirs. I'm sure that will be "legal" soon. This blog from the Power Blog titled "Global Warming Consensus Alert Ad; Kill 'em all" is a good run down on the global warming scam and the accompanying PR campaign that so accurately reflects the real Liberal Lefty socialist mindset.
