bumped up with update and link to a timely Legal Insurrection post on Obama squeezing energy producers.
It's setting up to be a perfect storm and oil imports will flourish.
With no new drilling or exploration happening on American soil, offshore drilling halted, new oil being prepped everywhere but the United States, no new nuke plants coming online, hydro electric power going offline and coal created electricity getting the squeeze, the American government is manufacturing our own home grown energy crisis.
Further, as the global economic recovery slowly but surely chugs into motion, GLOBAL demand will begin to outstrip production and prices will rise through the roof. Our only saving grace in the short run is that the economy sucks and demand is low. The long run not so much.
Had the Bush and the Obama administration gone full force in bolstering the domestic production of energy (even electric energy), we'd be in good shape, but we are not. What we have is a domestic war on warm weather and new wind mills which don't produce jack (smacks of a literal Don Quixote metaphor if ever there was one).
Should Israel decide to take out Iran in this same time frame, and ooooh baby we are looking at an energy crisis to tell your bankrupt grand kids about. Sorry fixed income seniors with reduced Social Security benefits who can't afford heating oil, you're going green. Though technically I think freezing limbs with no blood flow turn a different color.
Ah- but in a recent post I declared that I don't lease space in my brain for people I believe to be windmill chasing idiots, rather that mental real estate is best used as shop space for profiteering on the stupidity of the Obama voting masses. Call me Al Gore in that regard.
Obama's answer to growing the domestic supply of energy which drives our economic engine: Windmills, regulating energy producers out of business, cash for clunkers, and cash for caulkers. Please stop... the energy execs and Saudis are wetting their pants laughing.
My Response: Accumulate energy stocks. As with the last energy crunch, all the usual stock symbols will go through the roof. They are smart and know how to play this game like a harp from hell.
A political blog of all things Thurston (aka Hazard County) and many things from the fathers' rights front. The Olympian's Brad Shannon says this about the opinion and commentary expressed on this blog: "Filled with hate," "Disturbed," "Out of the mainstream." Hey, that's a call to action for the Tea Party generation if ever there was one.

Is there REALLY a budget crisis in Washington State?
Here's your litmus test
Will Governor Gregoire ask the tribes to share gambling revenue with the state to resolve said "budget crisis?"
Answer key:
If the answer is yes: There really is a budget crisis. Gregoire and the legislature cutting public safety and core services isn't just a lot of kabuki and political theatre.
If the answer is no: There really isn't a budget crisis, it's just politics as usual. Tim Eyeman will save us from Gregoire (again).

Great Wolf Lodge of thieves now paying taxes? How about other tribal revenue streams?
Credit where it's due, the Zero actually covered this story back in April. Credit is also due to the county for managing this case through to conclusion. Why is this story significant? According to the article "The lodge is estimated to generate about $1 million a year in property taxes." Hmm... roads, fire, police, schools (the GWL has no problem marketing to children in our county). Also, about a million bucks in Thurston County stimulus money to "create or save jobs" was sent to widen the road leading directly into the Great Wolf Lodge parking lot (and no where else). Job's created or saved = 0.
I'm all in favor of a big resort and tourist attraction in Thurston County, so long as the playing field is even with other businesses and residents aren't being forced to subsidize the supporting infrastructure, as was the case with this parasite tribal venture.
Presuming the Lodge collects sales tax, I may actually remove it from my banned list. For those following along, I vote with my dollars. Though I love to gamble, I will never step foot in a tribal owned casino. Why? I ONLY BUY AMERICAN, and won't give a cent of my own cabbage to a parasite "sovereign nation" that doesn't contribute anything to our local economy, is not subject to our state's laws, and in turn buys off every Democrat in the legislature and governor's office who in turn have done an excellent job of running our state into the ground.
On that note, I wonder if Governor Gregoire is going to reconsider her tribal give away on gambling to close the 5 BILLION DOLLAR budget deficit? Democrat's ideas of shared sacrifice don't seem to apply to the tribes, though they seem to have gotten a disproportionate amount of stimulus money in Washington State.

Observation: The more they hate her, the more powerful she becomes
The reactions to the AZ shootings and attempts to somehow attach it to Sara Palin are an enigma to me. On a positive note, I'm noticing that a few in the media are actually practicing journalistic integrity in debunking such propaganda. This gives some optimism that one day journalists will actually earn some level of credibility in a distant future year (or decade).
My advice to those who really really really hate Palin: You ought not give her so much rent free real estate in your minds. I say as Ann Coulter has said from the get-go, there's nothing all that remarkable about her over any other conservative than the outright hatred the left has of her. For someone holding no office, she wields quite a bit of power over her detractors.
How has this Lord Voldemort level of power and authority of not holding office evaded 2004 VP hopeful, and 2008 loser John Edwards?
To Palin's detractors: Ever since the Katie Couric gotcha question about notable SCOTUS cases, every attempt to paint Palin as a vapid idiot devoid of knowledge has resulted in a wonderful trip to Narnia whereby Palin becomes stronger and stronger. Each one of these swipes at Palin seems to result in less credibility in her detractors and earns her more supporters amongst independents.
Though I could not be more diametrically opposed to Pop Star in Chief Obama, he owns no more real estate in my head than is due to the leader of the free world. Nay as landlord of that domain I don't even find it sad, nor disappointing that otherwise critical thinkers fail to apply the same scrutiny on Obama's keen grasp on key issues as they do to Palin's purported vacuum. To the contrary, I am entertained by it and have ultimately dedicated my thought process to figuring out how I can personally prosper through anticipating the irrational behavior of the masses.

Open House at the Thurston Mafia Headquarters
I rarely pay attention to the law racketeers anymore and their Rico Enterprise known as the Wa Courts and Thurston Superior Court. They leave me alone, I leave them alone. Life is much better not dealing with legal psychopaths (er excuse me, "law professionals") on a regular basis. So, most emails I receive don't get much attention or reaction from me anymore. But, this one. Oh, this one is classic. I was sent an email regarding this "open house" tomorrow. Paula Casey and Barbara Madsen begging for dollars under the guise of being champions for justice trying to garner public support. Ya, that is classic. Neither of those two gender bigots would know justice if it DV'd them in the face. An open house. This could be fun. I have quite a few questions I'd like to ask them about their concerns for justice and the constitution of the United States that they routinely do violence to. I'd like to discuss their involvement on gender slanted committees and perhaps some specific rulings that actually defied the actual law on many levels and points. I'd also like to ask court administrator, Marti Maxwell, why she has failed to respond to several public disclosure requests that date back three years. I would also like to ask these law racketeers, if as they say the courts are open and we are the owners of the court (so to speak), why we are routinely denied access to court administrative records under their self serving interpretation of "Nast v. Michels." I'd ask why ALL of the Thurston Black Robes have No oaths of office filed as per the constitution swearing to uphold the constitution for a period of many years. Justice and openness? Really? Nice show Barbara and Paula. Nice show. You give definition to the word psychopath. You truly have no conscience.
The state is 5 BILLION in the hole and they want more money to screw we, the people in their special extortion chambers known as the Wa Courts? Remember that if the state of Washington was a business, they'd now be out of business. Shut the doors, cut the power, pad lock the entrances. OUT OF BUSINESS. Finished. Done. Justice? The RICO enterprise known as Thurston County Courts being shut down would be justice. Now that would be justice. As the economy continues to spiral (we are far from the bottom) and gas prices reach $5 a gallon by year end, it may just happen. What a bright future we may have after all. God bless America.
Come on see the show (Tomorrow)

Washington Courts: News and Information
“Justice at Work” open court event will showcase Thurston County courts in action
January 03, 2011
OLYMPIA — The inner-workings of the Thurston County courts will be showcased in a special open house event Jan. 5 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Thurston County Superior and District courts, as well as the Family and Juvenile Court, which is a branch of the superior court. This is the first event of its kind held jointly by Thurston County courts and the statewide Justice in Jeopardy Committee.
Visitors will be able to sit in on hearings for or learn more about:
· Veteran’s Court, the first in the state;
· Drug Court;
· Mental Illness Court;
· Family Treatment Court;
· Juvenile probation;
· Legal aid;
· Children’s advocacy;
· Crime victim assistance;
· Public defense;
· Court records;
· Court interpreters;
· Assistance for self-filers, and more.
The public is invited to an opening ceremony at 1 p.m. in the superior court (Bldg. 2), and then welcome to visit court hearings taking place throughout the courts, with maps and posted signs explaining what is happening inside each courtroom.
The event will also include resource tables containing a wide array of information on court services and justice programs, the opportunity to talk with court users about their experiences, ask questions of volunteers and guides, visit the self-help kiosks of the County Clerk’s office, and take trips to the Family and Juvenile Court (vans provided, or visitors can visit the court on their own).
Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Barbara Madsen will speak briefly during the opening ceremony as will Thurston County Superior Court Presiding Judge Paula Casey, Thurston County District Court Presiding Judge Brett Buckley, and a small number of court users sharing their experiences with the justice system.
The Thurston County Courthouse is located at 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW, Olympia, 98502. The Family & Juvenile Court is located at 2801 32nd Ave. SW. Tumwater, 98501.
“We are excited by the opportunity to show the community how the courts work. The courts are always open to the public, but January 5 will provide a chance to learn about specific court programs and ask questions. We hope to see many of our community members at the open house,” Judge Casey said.
The event is co-sponsored by the Justice in Jeopardy Initiative, a statewide network of judges, attorneys, court administrators, county clerks and other justice system professionals working to improve the state’s judicial system and stabilize funding for its courts.
“Amazing work is being done every day in the courts to help our residents find the help they need and the justice they deserve,” said Chief Justice Madsen, who co-chairs the Justice in Jeopardy Implementation Committee. “In these tough budget times, the judicial branch is working harder and more creatively to bridge the budget gaps that strain the delivery of justice.”
State legislators began working several years ago with the Justice in Jeopardy Task Force to reform the judicial branch funding system and provide more state dollars for court operations, though some of those dollars have been lost and progress on reform halted in the economic decline. Local lawmakers are also working hard to keep courthouse doors open and justice operating. For instance, Thurston County Commissioners did not cut Thurston County court budgets for 2010 after having to cut court funding in the previous two years.
The Justice in Jeopardy Initiative, in the long run, advocates equal responsibility between the state and local government funding of court operations — currently the state bears about 17 percent of the cost of court operations, prosecution and public defense, with counties and cities paying the other 83 percent.
“We understand the reality in this very difficult economy, but it’s also true that in times like these, many people turn to the courts to resolve serious issues and most come to court without attorneys,” Madsen said. “We thank the hard-working staff members and volunteers who are helping so many people navigate the system, and we ask that lawmakers remember the increased demands on the courts and the constitutional right to justice.”
Madsen said she hopes residents and community leaders will take advantage of the open house opportunity to learn more about the operations and programs of their local courts.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am sory four your loss. Kindest Regards, Maria Cantwell
The only thing more disrespectful than a form letter, is one that hasn't been proofed. Hey Cantwell, it's a letter to a grieving family, not a blog entry. Via the Tacoma News Tribune and Zippers.
Just a reminder. As I understand it, and as is reported by Zippers, Frmr CIC President GW Bush made a personal phone call to each and every family when a son, daughter, or spouse was KIA. Also a reminder, Bush cut nearly all golf outings because he viewed it as really bad etiquette for the CIC to be out on the golf greens while our troops risking their lives in a kill zone.
Democrats, not so much. Recall Obama snubbing the troops to play a game of hoops in Germany? Maybe Democrats and the narcissist in chief should spend a little less time on the golf course and fighting an imaginary war against the weather and a little more time fighting the real war against a sect of the world that really wants to kill us. 2012 cannot come soon enough.
My heartfelt sorrow goes out to the Collins family. There is no excuse for this level of disrespect to the families of our soldiers.
Us: Fight in war, pray like crazy while our sons and daughters fight
in war, and mourn with all our hearts when the ultimate sacrifice is made for
our country.
Maria Cantwell: Will send you an unproofed form letter with her deepest
sympathy when a family member is KIA.
President Obama: Too
busy to call the families of our fallen.
