Hearing Obama's speech yesterday, I didn't realize that my wife and I's combined income made us private jet owners.
I can't wait to fly off to our private island in our 2003 Kia Rio (manual windows, no AC and no power steering) and 2003 (purchased used) Nissan Maxima.
A political blog of all things Thurston (aka Hazard County) and many things from the fathers' rights front. The Olympian's Brad Shannon says this about the opinion and commentary expressed on this blog: "Filled with hate," "Disturbed," "Out of the mainstream." Hey, that's a call to action for the Tea Party generation if ever there was one.

If you had zero confidence in Obama's abilities
...and were 100% certain he would run our economy into the ditch, then the last few years in the stock market have been been VERY good to you.
Last year I read the Reagan diaries. The man was obsessed with the economy, not the golf course or celebutard parties or fund raisers. Obama...eh not so much. Further, every thing Obama has touched during his Presidency has turned to rot. Even getting Bin Laden is shadowed by ultimate surrender in Afghanistan.
So if you are sitting right now with most of portfolio with covered calls sold FAR into the money, today was a very good day for you. The rest of America, especially those filing jobless claims, eh not so much. Going back to 2008, I knew this guy AND McCain were a couple of twits and I governed my affairs accordingly. Sometimes recognizing and acting on the obvious makes all the difference.

Uncle Ted on the 2nd Amendment
This video is a bit of a re-run. But, it showed up in my inbox recently and I felt it post worthy for discussion. Love him or hate him, agree or disagree, Uncle Ted does remind us that we still have the 1st because of the 2nd. They weren't having this discussion in Soviet Russia nor are they in modern day China, North Korea or Iran. Will WE (free Americans) be having this discussion in the future if we continue down the road we are on? Now, go talk amongst yourselves.

What they should have spent the money on
I've often pointed out that the stimulus money in Thurston County was funnelled to the tribes, specifically to the Great Wolf Lodge- whose entrance we dropped a cool million or so into and who still is not paying any property taxes. Good for the tribe, bad for the rest of us. Must be nice to have some elected officials in your pockets eh?
But suppose I ruled the world- or at least controlled the purse strings of the idiotic stimulus money. What would I have done different or better?
Easy. I would have paid to make local government smaller [and bigger] all at once.
How? Buy out / bump up massive amounts of near retirement local workers into early retirement with one condition: The local entity must switch from pension to self funded 401k for all new employees.
Nothing new about the early retirement plan... you get fat, expensive and old deadwood off the pay roll and bring on scrappy new hungry tigers at a fraction of the cost. Added bonus, you get local entities out of the pension business.
Ideally this is not as good as never doing the moronic stimulus in the first place, but better than what the idiot stick in chief did.
All those city and county payrolls would be a lot easier to make this year with my plan; critical services would be preserved and actual jobs would have been created. Even better, you can easily bring on 3 temps for the cost of one near retirement deadwood. Even more better you keep best of 1 of the 3 temps on permanent.

Dear Elizabeth Stamatina
Elizabeth Stamatina better known as Tina Fey, better known as funny girl on SNL and Liz Lemon on 30 Rock is preggers. Lovely Lemon is 41 (pushing 42) years of age.
Well Ms Lemon- at your age, there is greather than 1 /100 chance your baby will be born with Down Syndrome.
Gonna make fun of faith and bitter clingers this election season? Gonna fight for that right to an abortion when you're carrying a bambino in the oven?
I bring this up because for the past 2+ years I've had to listen to non stop drivel about how dumb Palin is from people who know more Tina Fey quotes than Palin facts. Worst of all, were the attacks on Palin's family.
I wish Lemon nothing but a successful healthy pregnancy and a bambino with the proverbial 10&10. For her baby's sake, I hope she has the humility to pray that God does not choose this hour to gift her the humility she's to this point lacked.
