Honoring local greatness

I have the honor of being part of an organization which also has a lot of military heros.  Tonight I had the honor of meeting one of them:  Wally Hoffman flew thirty plus bombing missions over Europe in WWII.  Whatever the problems of the day might be for the rest of, these problems are petty compared to the life or death scenarios these heros (and our heros fighting now) face[d] to keep us safe.  Wally is well into the evening of his years, but honored us with his presence this evening.  I had to look up more about his background afterwards.
All I can say is wow.  Wow, thanks for serving, and thanks for putting some of the stories to cyber paper.

Evil exists when good men do nothing.  Wally is one of the good men who did quite a lot to keep free men free.
