A Monumental Movie

Went to the opening showing last night.  Kirk Cameron was preaching to the choir.  I've been harping on the same topic here on the pundit for years about the foundational principles of this country and the basis of freedom and liberty.  They stem from a system built on the bible and God's wisdom, not liberal progressive-ism or human secularism or any other ism.  No other country has ever achieved what we have because of it.  The folks that need to see this movie are the many who have been brain washed by the media, culture and public school system that promotes the prevalent anti-Christ agenda.  That is not even arguable from a historical stance.  What is being taught now is revisionist history.  Did you know that CONGRESS paid for (prior to the income tax being implemented) the first English Bibles in America.  They were sent to homes (because parent's are responsible for teaching the ways of truth and liberty to children not bureaucrats and "villages"), churches and specifically schools.  Of course, it has always driven me crazy to hear people try to pervert and distort separation of state and church and the fact that our founders and founding documents were squarely Christian.  We have let the anti-Christ, secular movement in this county not only change our public course, distort our laws and courts but we have allowed them to revise and re-write history.  Revival is a generational thing.  It takes a generation or "40 years" in some cases.  So, we better start now.  I urge all TRUTH seeking Americans (Christian or not) to go see this movie and discover who, what and why founded this great country.  I urge everyone to check it out if you are interested in freedom, liberty, and the resulting prosperity that this country once enjoyed.  As he says in the intro, "the soul of our country is very sick."  The good news is . . . this is history just repeating itself and we have the blue print to get out of the mess we are in.

Perps in hoodies

The following conversation happened a year or two back.  I live in a modest pseudo rural area outside of Olympia.  It is a predominantly white neighborhood, but a black person would not cause suspicion, unless they were acting suspiciously.  My house looks nothing like a home someone with a lot of money would own.  Oddly the person at the door was a young black man with a hoodie.

Trayvon:  Is ____ here?
Me: Who?

Trayvon:   _____.  He plays for the Seahawks.
Me:   No one by that name lives here or in this neighborhood that I’m aware of.  Tell me the address you are looking for, I know the area and I can help you find it.
Trayvon:  I don’t know.
Me: Do you have a map printed out or something on your phone that pointed you to this address?
Trayvon: No.
Me: What does the house that you are looking for look like that caused you to think it was this one?
Trayvon:  I don’t know.
Me: (still pretending to be helpful) Cell reception is bad here, do you have the phone number of this guy.  I’ll call and tell him you are looking for his house and I’ll give you directions.
Trayvon:  I don’t have his number.
Me: What address do you think you are at?
Trayvon:  I don’t know.
Me: Well do you even know what street you are on?
Trayvon:  (No answer)
Me: So let me get this straight.  You just now drove to and knocked on the door of a small ranch house in a secluded area of Olympia and didn’t say you were lost, but that this was the crib of someone who plays for the Seattle Seahawks but you don’t have an address, phone number, or even directions on how to get here.  Sorry, I don’t think I can help you.

Me in 1 1/2 minutes:  Hello.  911, a car with this description and a person of this description just left here.  The story (x) didn’t add up and it seemed really out of place.  I think he is casing the neighborhood and he didn’t expect to find me home.  If a deputy is available they can intercept him if they drive in via ____ road which is the only way out of here.

Sherriff in 20 minutes:  Hello- I just pulled the guy over.  I followed him on a tour of 3 neighborhoods before pulling him over.  He gave me a completely different story than he gave you.  He didn’t have anything in the car, but he’s got a rap sheet a mile long.  He’s from Tacoma.

Conclusion:  Don't be an idiot and think that I use this story to judge black people.  I judge people by the summation of their actions.  When something walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and behaves like a duck, it's probably a duck or something trying really hard to look like a duck, or not trying hard to not look like a duck.  Great if you are proud of being a duck-like entity, but don't get angry if you get treated as a duck like entity.  Especially when duck like entities go around robbing houses.

To Kill a Mockingbird: George Zimmerman is in my living room if you want to come lynch him

Aticus Finch and I are standing guard to keep the angry share cropper lynch mob away.  Having learned a lesson from the Tom Robinson trial, we have a bit more ammunition.  Come and get him if you like.  Since all lynch mobs are comprised of absolute cowards, there isn't much to fear.

Something didn't smell quite right about the early reporting on this shooting.  Several days into it, many more facts are known that MSM is conveniently leaving out of the narrative.  They are reporting the story they would LIKE it to be, not the story it is.  Rather than exposing more facts, they are promoting the ignorant knee jerk reactions of equally uninformed morons who would rather appear rightious than be right.

I'm not buying the immediate narrative that he just followed the kid and capped him; it's a non sequitur.  As more facts become known, the more it sounds like self defense.

updates:

I like that my fellow Americans have such big hearts and disdain for white on black racism, if only they weren't such ignorant jack ass morons with no need for actual facts and had equal intolerance for race baiting slander.  If the only lesson America learned from To Kill a Mockingbird was white is bad, black is not guilty, then a lot of people are riding in the back of the short bus when it comes to ending racism. In fact, we are worse off as a society.

Regardless of color, don't be fooled by first impressions.  Remember this one?  Well as it turns out, the girl getting her butt kicked was a complete thug and animal and was a familiar character to the criminal justice system and to the security team in the bus tunnel.  After bullying the aggressor for quite a while, the camera caught only the portion where the bully got her just desserts.  However, right after the video aired, the public wanted to lynch the gaurds.  Oops.  I could post about dozen other cases like this, I wish it weren't necessary.

I will give credit where it is due. At least Obama didn't immediately say the police acted stupidly. Experience is a tough teacher.

The 'bomster signs pre drunken Holiday, Friday Exec Order

Oh those sneaky late Friday EO's signed by the Obomster.  Coincidence?  Conspiracy afoot?  Well, who cares, huh?  American Idol is on.  I can't be bothered with that kind of nonsense.  He had good reason for destroying our chances for oil independence with the rejected lease renewals of the gulf and Alaska oil rigs and killing the Keystone pipeline.  I'm sure I'm just too dumb to understand his big picture thinking and motives.  I'm just a God fearing, gun toting conservative clinging to my can o' chew and Budweiser.  I trust the 'Bomster and know he'll take good care of me when he has complete control.  Sarcasm?  You be the judge.

The fact that this new executive order greases the skids for the government to nationalize the entire economy, placing the means of production of virtually everything under the control of the state, is yet another sign that the feds are preparing for America’s descent into Greece-style austerity hell.
Just as Greece and many countries in Europe have been overthrown by unelected technocrats who have seized control of their economies, America is being primed for the same final act of complete usurpation.

Desperate

This unbiased coverage speaks to why Yahoo has been on the verge of bankruptcy for past decade.

Yahoo NewsRick Santorum is coming to take away your porn.

Porn Industry:  Uhhh, If you are talking about kiddie porn, we support him and any other President in that agenda.

Yahoo News:  Really he is, he's going after all explicit porn.  He's one of those right wing extremists declaring war on women and now he's going after your porn.  Rick Santorum says porn is bad and he's going to put you in jail for it.

Porn Idustry:  We seriously doubt that.

Washington's legislature, DV and the accused in the Afghan civilian murders

On Monday, March 19. There will meeting will be in Cherberg Building on Capitol Campus from 9:00-11:00 AM in conference room 429.  The meeting is about whether or not the rules of evidence should be applied in granting extended protection orders.

Currently anyone with a vagina can get a protection order against anyone with penis just by visiting the court house.  That order is supposed to be temporary but can be renewed forever, w/out any evidence.  Women's advocates and attorney's LOVE this because it skews the playing field in their favor in divorce and custody hearings.  Anyone who can fill out a form is an automatic victim of domestic violence.  Those same benefactors are in opposition of the rules of evidence.  They say evidence is just "too hard."

One very big problem, aside from royally screwing over innocent men, this does nothing to help actual victims of domestic violence.  When everyone is a victim, no one is a victim.  They systemic effect is that there is now a giant trail of money going to a system that really doesn't give a crap about whether actual victims are protected, but flourishes when tons of women leverage it for vengence.

It's coming out that Robert Bales was prosecuted for assault on a girlfriend in 2002.  I'm no expert in the rules of the military, but my understanding from speaking with those who serve is that even an accusation that never gets prosecuted will stop you from getting promoted.  Hence a DV accusation is a powerful weapon with lots of teeth, it does everything imaginable to destroy the accused but nothing to protect actual victims.    Just ask those dead Afghan civilians.

Though the media is releasing lots of juicy quotes and tid bits, we don't have all the facts in the Bales case.  I am noticing a trend with the Bales DV connection:  the same DV system that attempts to avert the constitution and other inconvenient things like rules of evidence, also fails to protect victims.

My take is that DV is a crime and should be treated like one.  In speaking with friends (mostly liberal), who have served on DV juries, their attitude going in is that they've love to put a wifebeater behind bars, but after serving, they walk away disgusted at the performance of prosecutors.  Sloth and ineptitude are two words used.  Oddly I don't see the prosecutors blushing.  Fact: toads, goats and lawyers are not capable of shame.

I hope the media really drills into the DV case with Bales.  It will be illuminating.

To the parents of Rachel Corrie

You are fans of lawsuits for justice.  I highly recommend the families hit by these rockets file a lawsuit against your family for damages sustained by these rockets.  They were fired by the same terrorists your late daughter and your terror sympathizing movie aided.  You may have even paid for these specific rockets.

http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/03/this-is-peace/#comments

I sometimes wonder how one becomes a proactive supporter of the murder of civilians and remains one after objectively looking at both sides.  I've listened to both sides for years, many of those years I was a liberal democrat more sympathetic to the Palestinians than the Israelis.  The conclusion I reach is liberals either refuse to listen or are in the same Jew hating category as the terrorists.

The Facts:  The rockets came before the bulldozers.  When the bulldozers stop, the rockets return.  There is NOTHING from the Palestinians that can evoke sympathy from a rational human conscience.

Islam and Christianity at the Crossroads

I had an interesting weekend in terms of a reminder of what Islam and its followers are up to.  We've seen what they've done to Europe (& elsewhere) . . . http://thurstonpundits.blogspot.com/search?q=islam.   They now have members of parliament in many of these countries.  Saturday, we went to see the new Navy Seal movie that my father in law recommended; Acts of Valor.  Very powerful and very enlightening movie.  The Seals are amazing men and incredibly trained and poised fighters.  The underlying message of the story line about Islam left the entire theater stunned and motionless after the movie.  Sunday, we had a guest preacher in from Mexico City.  He was encouraging missions and spreading the word.  Ironically, in a short segue, he went on to compare our mission work to Islam and talks about Europe, Africa and other places that they have taken over.  But, also says they are picking up their roots and replanting themselves all over Mexico, Central and South America now just like they are the United States.  There is a Mosque just a five minute walk from his house in Mexico.  It is no secret (to the rest of the world) that they want to take over the world and that they have no tolerance for other religious views.  They can't take over with their military but they know they can repopulate other countries that allow them to do so.  This preacher from Mexico knows it.  Still, we in America, continue to ignore it while our brave men and women in the armed forces and intelligence services fight off the swarms at our borders and abroad trying to invade our country and terrorize us.  Meanwhile, Mosques are quietly going up in every community across our Christian nation.  This Preacher from Mexico called the United States a huge mission field.  If that isn't a call to action for Christians in America, I don't know what is.  As he pointed out, we Christians want to take over the world too and, in the end, we will.  I read the book, newsflash, we win.  But, the difference is, we are called to go out and spread the word across the four corners of the world in Peace and in Love.  These two forces will never "co-exist" and they don't pretend that they want to.  It is written in their book and Nations of them have vowed to destroy (behead not be-friend) all Jews, Christians or any other view than their own.  Currently, in Iran, there is a Christian pastor awaiting execution for being Christian (that is his only crime and he was never a Muslim to begin with) . . . http://aclj.org/Nadarkhani.  Sharia Law is making it's way into American courts and cities . . . http://aclj.org/sharia-law/fox-news-judge-american-courts-can-use-sharia-law.  So, I don't know how this plays out in America where we value freedom, liberty and separation of church and state.  Islam does not . . . Islam says Freedom go to Hell.  Christians confess Jesus Christ as Lord that Jesus is the ONLY way.  Quite a looming predicament in America.  One thing I do know, it is time for the majority of Americans (Christians) to step up and change their luke warm faith and passive lives, myself included, if we are to regain our favor with God and preserve our freedoms and God given rights. Spread the good word of the saving grace, forgiveness and ultimate salvation of Jesus Christ.  Let's not sit on our hands when a co-worker spews some Pagan or secular misinformation.  Challenge then and be bold in the truth with the one who saves and who lives in us.  Spread the Good News and his executed plan of salvation.  That is how we reclaim America and, if not, we will at least save ourselves for an eternal life of joy and peace.  John 3:16.  Kind of beats the alternative.  America (this world) is in a spiritual war whether you want to grasp it or not.  May God (of the Bible and Israel) bless America once again.  It starts with us and it starts now . . . The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

Out of Control Gas Prices means . . .

Obama is reducing domestic supply while OPEC reduces Middle Eastern supply to increase gas prices.  Libs think high gas prices will lead to nice little Priuses driving around everywhere and electric cars and nice green jobs.  So, they buy the green lie and defend/promote his actions thinking we are going to be an oil free nation. Perhaps an achievable goal in the very, very long term, not short term.  The problem with this short term view is there won't be any USA left if gas prices reach $10-12 a gallon or "European levels" at even $6-8 per gallon.  We have the natural resources to be energy independent in 12 years if we would start using our domestic resources instead of playing politics.  That should be the goal and the starting point.  Israel didn't kill the Keystone pipeline and let all the gulf oil rigs depart for other parts of the world.  We are letting Obama and the internationalists, who control him, kill our economy and Obama is playing into the islamo fascist oil monopoly.  It's not a conspiracy theory if it's true, my friend.

Some enlightening thoughts and statistics from some experts . . .

Israel, gas prices and election year

UPDATE: Someone at the White House has been reading this blog :-)

http://weaselzippers.us/2012/04/03/report-obama-blaming-israel-for-rising-fuel-prices/

Israel has taken down multiple nuke sites from hostile entities in the past decade.  They released the Stuxnet virus.  They have taken out multiple Iranian nuke scientists.  The rest of the world found out afterward. Israel does not ask for permission to defend its interests, nor should it.
So taking this into context, how does one account for the "diplomatic" acrobatics and sabre rattling between Israel and Iran of late?

Easy.  It's all a show.  Israel is intentionally scaring up energy prices to get Obama out of office.  Obama has been the most anti Israel president this country has ever had.  If there is a 2nd Obama term, they may end up having to strike Iran hard, but they would rather global pressures intervened, as Obama will not do.

A convenient and easy way for Israel to deal with a friendlier US president is to make energy, specifically gas prices, the defining issue.  Israel does not need to make too many contortions to cause instability in those extremely fragile and volatile markets.  Obama has been as anti-oil as he has been anti Israel.  He's weak on this issue and his defining energy policies have included bankrupt solar firms, cash for clunkers, and tire pressure gauges.  Let's not forget him lecturing us on where we can and can't set our thermostats.  For Israel, scaring up energy prices to get rid of Obama is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Yay for Israel.  If five dollar gas is what it takes to get rid of Obama, its a lot cheaper for me in the long run than paying the 45% personal income taxation he is proposing on corporate dividends.

Conspiracy Theory Chalk Talk

I'm adding a new category to the blog today: Conspiracy Theories.

Don't take my conspiracy theories too seriously.  I don't.  But it is great fun to connect the dots.

Here are my rules for a good conspiracy theory:

1- It must be plausible.  The party instituting the conspiracy must have a significant and intrinsic gain by committing the conspiracy vs accomplishing the goal through other means or doing nothing.
2- The conspiracy must be viable and feasible.  If a Fortune 500 company couldn't pull it off with several top notch program managers and engineers, then it is not feasible.
3- Cost of failure or discovery.  Presuming rule 1 and 2 have been met, the conspirator would not move forward with the plan if the cost of discovery or failure were too high.

As with any conspiracy theory- I don't need proof, it's all conjecture and good for beer talk.

The problem with most conspiracy theory nuts is they take themselves too seriously, are often obsessive /compulsive and don't have criteria such as I outlined in 1-3.  I only place a maximum probability of 20%* in any of my own conspiracy theories or doomsday scenarios, so remember, this is really about conjecture not about building an underground bunker (not that an underground bunker is a horrible thing to own, I wish I had one).  Feel free to pour a tumbler of JD while reading anything with the conspiracy theory label on this blog.  It is meant to be fun.

*As a side note, in 2004 I correctly predicted the banks would collapse in the following 5-7 years.  With that in mind, one might want to weigh some of my theories at higher than a 20% probability of happening.

Employment Security's war on small business

Are you a business owner?
Need to hire employees?
Thinking of hiring someone collecting unemployment?

Think again.  If you hire an employee who is serially unemployed, employment security will tag YOUR rates for years after that person leaves your employment.  In 2010 I had a part time worker who left the area (he quit and was not fired).   Later, employment security attempts to jack my rates because this person went on to be serially unemployed.

So you have to wonder what effect this is going to have on a business when making a hiring decision.

Do I hire or do I find another way to get the work done?

My Netflix subscription has been cancelled over ad pull from Rush Limbaugh

Updated:  Netflix was not a direct advertiser, but requested assurance they are NOT run during the Rush Limbaugh show.  Blah----the suspension remains in force.

-----
Netflix made it onto a list of advertisers pulling ad money from Rush Limbaugh.  My subscription was cancelled 2 minutes after reading that.

I rarely listen to talk radio during the day, so I'm not a big fan who stays glued to Rush's every word.  I do however loath what the left is doing to Rush's advertisers.

What is very notable is that I was rather supportive of Netflix raising their prices this past year, though the timing and communication was not well managed.

As a business owner, I have always tried to keep my own political views out of my "store front" because I respect my customers enough to believe that they came to their own political ideology through a lifetime of observations, even though I don't share that same conclusion.  I'm not selling them my view politics, I'm selling them that my business provides an excellent service.  Netflix on the other hand chose to alienate me and millions of other conservatives as customer by proactively injecting themselves into the political realm.

Rush Limbaugh sponsors running for cover?

1- As a conservative, I will NEVER purchase a product from any sponsor that bails from Rush's show over his slut comment.
2- As marketing guy myself: Come on advertisers, are you that STUPID???  Do you really not think the Dittohead audience won't toss your products like a stinky diaper for bailing over these comments.  Unlike the #occupy losers, Rush's audience actually has dollars to vote with.  Rest assured, they will vote against your company.

Update: The number of sponsors bailing is now @ 7.    Prediction:  Revenue at 6/7 will drop by at least 20-40% due to conservative backlash.  Carbonite will be out of business w/in 2 years.
